After initially thinking it might be legit - close1 is that old BoC sample after all, though it's actually Duffy iirc - I now feel certain it's a fake. The one longer track, Found the Way, sounds just like a Data Language Systems track, and whaddya know, he was the one who posted the "leak". In fact, all the tracks that are not identifiably previously existing BoC songs - focus on a spiral, found the way, and close4 - sound nothing like BoC. I call faek.

Which sucks since it made me pay 5 bucks for megaupload premium. Fuck you DLS.

i'm down with saying "found the way" sounds like DLS.
according to discogs it's actually "focus on THE spiral", could of atleast got the name right!

These are great and very cinvincing. maybe they are the real deal but I have a feeling we'll never know.

Alot of them are far apart from each other, normally boc songs on albums carry a theme through out but here I dont really hear it. but if this is real its their early stuff so it is hard to tell.

Well uhm if it turns out to be fakes created by Data Language Systems then I've got just two things to say:

1) Good job DLS on fooling a lot of people and actually creating decent BoC fakes!

But most importantly:

2) zomgplzdiekthxbbq!, you kinda lost my respect because if there's one thing I can't stand it's people trying to promote their own music at the expense of other artists; especially in the case of using the name Boards of Canada to spread your own music. You just don't do shit like that. If your music is good enough then people will eventually hear it. Patience is a vritue. HEH.

so, i'm still interested in that "closes3" and "focus on the spiral" that leaked a while ago, were those fakes? coz i loooove that "focus on the spiral"!!!

So, I am a bit confused... everyone one on this forum is saying that the link to the thread containing the supposed closes tracks is now down... but how many of said tracks were there??? There are quite a lot of songs on closes.... not that I'm complaining!! just wondering how many and what's up....??

Why doesnt he upload the entire album maybe becouse he needs time to make the songs...

If you check out http://fredd-e.narfum.org/boc/discog/#closesvol.1 , then you will see that the track lengths listed there are the actual lengths of these tracks. If these are fakes, then he definetly did his homework.

Hey Data Language Sytems; since watmm is down, come on over here and post the rest of the album. That is very fishy that it went down right when "Found The Way" was posted (the most convincing track yet) I need to hear the whole album before I can decide whether it's the real deal or not.

Iam torn here....on one hand I can see them being fakes as the one tune is a stripped down version of sixyniner and the other, a slowed down version an "old tune" song. the sounds, effects, quality is all consistent with BoC. On the other hand, I can see them being real for the same reasons above.

Either way, some absolutely gorgeous material. Thanks Fredd-e for posting the link on watmm2. You truly are a god among men.

Ok, now I'm convinced these are fakes made by Data Language Systems. Listen to Found The Way and compare it to his tracks on myspace. The similarities are uncanny.

hmm yes after repeatedly being listening "found the way" and the tracks on his site I'm starting to have serious doubts as well about these leaks being legit... damn DLS!
