Re: BoC Fakes
while we are on the topic, i recently came across an ancient CD booklet that i had long thought was lost to the void. i found a mix i made probably circa 2008 called bedtime with buddha that i compiled tor friends. it of course had some boc but sprinkled in with the royksopp and renu was a song i had completely forgot about, birthday tape aka incandescent autumn by chaosmachine. i remember it was shortly after the old tapes saga had come into full swing and one day on watmm this post was made regarding this so called boc tune from the early days. bought it hook line and sinker as I'm sure others did. sadly when i attempted to rip the song the cd shit the bed and has left me jonesin for it
anyways not sure why i decided to regale you with a pointless lead up story to my question. does anyone have that song and or all of his work? his site is still online but the track links are dead and i figure this would be the best place to track them down. much appreciated friends

That's available here http://blamcast.net/music/chaosmachine/ ... thday-tape
Oddest thing. Clicked the download link and it gave me a file not found page. Repeated it, same again. Then decided "whatever" and thought I'd look to see if I could pull up a directory listing by changing http://blamcast.net/audio/download/10/c ... autumn.mp3 to just http://blamcast.net/audio/download/10/
That also didn't work, but when I hit "back" on the browser, the mp3 downloaded. *shrug* So do that, and it might work for you too

Re: BoC Fakes
So I've been digging into Marumari. The true identity of the "Stry Craty Bya" fake has finally been discovered!
It has been known as either "Stry Craty Bya" or "Eno Test", circulated as mp3 with a length of 4:37. The true name is "Submarine Tactics". The track was released May 2002 on a CDr-compilation called "We Bore", by now defunct Toast And Jam Recordings. It's 5:08, meaning half a minute has been missing from the old mp3.
newwave808 on YouTube has unearthed a full version which you can listen to here:
However, there's twist to this. From bocpages:
"The songs were discovered on various P2P networks. They are among the earliest mislabeled tracks; "Eno Test" was first mentioned on idm-l on May 14, 2000, with "Parson" first mentioned in another post (in conjuction with "Eno Test") on Jan 12, 2001"
If this is indeed true, then an incomplete version of the track had been in circulation for (at least) two years before its actual release??

Found another fake. https://www.discogs.com/Nochexxx-LWE-Po ... se/3917086
"b.o.c.* Fonec" Actually sounds quite funny.
I'm wondering were the fake come's from.

Re: BoC Fakes
Well, "Fonec" is a Closes Vol. 1 tune and that playlist just looks like random selections from some guy's mp3 collection, so I'm 99% certain that it's just another re-tagged Old Tunes song from that same lame-ass fake version of the album that's been in circulation for over a decade lolFlory wrote:Found another fake. https://www.discogs.com/Nochexxx-LWE-Po ... se/3917086

Cool! I've been looking for 2 years now (no joke) for a lossless version of Marumari's Submarine Tactics song. I actually have an interest in the whole CD in general. Do you mind sharing the whole CD in lossless format with me please?playbyletters wrote:CDs have arrived! DM me for a flac.

Re: BoC Fakes
Interesting history with these "fakes". They've been floating around the web for awhile. Often they're paired with A14, which is labeled as "Godever".
That being said, A14 was floating around the web BEFORE the R35TT leak and labeled as Godever--so there's a small possibility it may very well be from Closes.
As for these three tracks, if they are fakes, they're very impressive ones, really nailed the BOC sound. My only issue is that they sound so...clean. I imagine we'd hear more tape hiss/compression.
Anywho, just an interesting oddity. Not saying it means anything.

Those tracks are definitely fake. They sound way too clean and modern, and moreover like someone trying to mimic BoC without utilizing the equipment they favor. The last two tracks just sound like totally nondescript ambient music.bocbocbocboc wrote:

A14, on the other hand, could very well be from Closes. I think a good argument can be made for B01 being the real Focus On the Spiral.

Re: BoC Fakes
Well, there's also a good chance A06 is 5d, as a video claiming it to be 5d was in BoC's official video playlist. I imagine a lot of tracks from Closes on Random 35.SamuraiDrifter wrote:Those tracks are definitely fake. I agree they sound too clean which is why I'm skeptical. Granted they're at least one of the *better* sounding fakes.
I wonder if the first version of Godever vs the R35TT version are different.
It all makes me wonder...who leaked R35 anyway?

If true, I wonder where he got it. Re: BoC Fakes
Pretty exciting news, "Eno Test" and "Parson" are getting reissued as a part of a Marumari rarities album in a few weeks. From what I can tell this is the first time the latter has ever been available in FLAC?? 18 tracks of goodies. There's also a rather limited tape edition, so those of y'all that are interested should jump on that quick.

Re: BoC Fakes
Recently found my downloaded copies of the Closes Vol 1 fakes that were on YouTube for a time.
From what I remember the banner of the YouTube account that had these up had a furry I think :3.
Think the fakes existed before 2018 in some other form but the files are dated April 2018.

Hadn't seen the fake Tornado and Movie clip videos in years. But the Found The Way vid has been reuploaded many times since.
