Oh, I've heard all about it. I thought all the shit with Keith Downey and Psycho was bad enough and then I find out Jason was lifting other artists' music and selling it as his own. It's a depressing state of affairs for the Irish.
The weirdest thing is that I actually know Jason. He originally contacted me through Twoism enquiring about some Reason lessons. I agreed. We chatted about music,BOC, etc. and he seemed really positive and enthusiastic about the prospect of making his own music. I even gave him patches I'd created and some loops without thinking anything of it.
As time wore on it became clear that he had some fairly serious problems - which I think is OK to mention because he was quite public with it. He also seemed to piggy back on others' musical content; trying to involve people by setting up open access Dropbox folders where ideas could be pooled and such.
Anyway, the last time I met him he was in quite a bad way. It was pissing rain in Galway and we agreed to meet for a pint. He waffled about his label a bit and how things were at home but he was off his nut.
The guy fell off big time

I don't get why he thought he could've gotten away with this.
This genre of music has a relatively small base creating it and a good portion congregate here, the chances of him getting caught were very high.
The whole thing was a castle of sand.

I've found another rip off, Camping Under a Blood Red Moon-ACYL-New Clear Dawn. It's a complete copy of Cumulous from Faster Than Clouds by Ten and Tracer. I'm gonna go through their catalogue because when I first heard them I could hear a lot of similarities in the eyesix/ACYL rip offs. I'll add it to the spreadsheet later.

So then he is who he says he is? Do you think that was probably all for drug money, ACYL?

A real man would settle it in an honest way right here in this thread.

Jason, if you had any respect for boc, you wouldn't do this. You would fix it! You are messing with the wrong crew! They don't want this garbage associated with their name. How is this your fav band? Show your face! Step up!

Pretty certain he's watching this thread. Hi Jason, you spineless coward. Any chance of owning up? No, didn't think so.

He's purged a bunch of Twoism contacts in the last 24 hours. If you want to continue questioning him, I'd suggest his graphic design website, which I think I shared a link to earlier.

I've been following this thread a bit and the others. Fortunately I didn't buy any of his stuff. I noticed he explained his absence on FB as losing his internet and breaking his leg and needing surgery from skating just last week. I don't know the dude as I'm in the states smells like lying to me though which is something addicts do with great ease. Doesn't sound like he's cleaned up and taking ownership. I feel bad for his new GF doubt she knows.

Holy Moly, it's turned out to be worse than I thought. Sorry everyone. I almost put out his first release on my Blurry Pup label, but he ended up going along with Sparkwood. A fluky dodge on my part.
I wasn't quite so lucky with the Downey thing, which also seems to have been even worse than I thought.
You live and learn. Always remember, the vast majority of people are not like this.

Bit of a necropost, but with the aid of song recognition tools I've found more songs that eyesix stole:
Spiral Seance from 'Ouija' is really "Spiral Labyrinth" by Dolphin Omega [aka Dolphin X]
The Ballad of Pan the Faun from 'Ouija' is really "Kaleidoscopes and Cathedrals" by Grids/Units/Planes
Hibernating Hexagonal Hedgehogs from 'Our Wilderness Projector' is "There's A Shipwreck Down There/From Lamey to L.A." by Little Plastic Pilots
First Summer Camp from 'Our Wilderness Projector' is "Words and Letters in Color" by Little Plastic Pilots
