this bloke posted this comment and since has been editing it to sound as believably scottish as possible.
to me it's blatantly a random guy pretending to be a friend of the band, googling scottish slang words as he edits the comment
hahaha wow. people just doing anything online with no shame, huh

And I was beginning to think calling Mr. Eoin "Unkle Markey" was my special keyword into hexagon sun.

Ever since I listened to Seward Leaf this morning my brain's been like "This reminds me of something, what the hell am I thinking of?" and I think I finally figured out what it is lmao

Specifically the "marching" bits around 1:14 and 3:12. Lord, I hope we get a better quality rip of this whole thing at some point even if it's fake because it's really quite nice lmao

https://www.youtube.com/@xerxescorr3137
either this is someone trying to get attention (98%) or a boc arg (2%)

The music is shite so I'm assuming the former

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this but you can look at the rest of his discogs collection here:

https://www.discogs.com/user/loughly/co ... r=1&page=1

He also has Hi Scores and Twoism (the original pressing) plus some other stuff - coincidentally Stereolab and fellow Scottish band Bis. It all looks like the sort of stuff a 50-something Scottish bloke would own

He should do a bit more digging… maybe he has PBN and Acid Memories kicking around lol

Oh yeah, someone in the comments on side b mentioned this being a dead ringer for the sample in Point Hope:

Bird calls from an old NFBOC documentary seems like an appropriately boc-like sample to me :P

Not trying to diffuse the excitement here but what, precisely, is giving people the idea this is anything but a really good fake with some additional effort creating vinyl for it? The sounds are there, I admit, but we've been down this road plenty of times before with the same end result. Why is it different now?

This is, hands down, the best BoC fake I have ever heard.

Two things that make me believe it’s real are the song “Circle” lining up with the sample, as well as the children’s voices on “Noatak” matching up with the few reviews we have of Hooper Bay. It also sounds too much like an authentic BoC recording to be a fake, since most fakes have a spot where it’s obviously fake and this doesn’t.

If it’s truly a fake, it’s the best one I’ve ever heard and James deserves full credit for his ability to make a BoC-esque album that sounds as convincing as this.

The other fakes have all been totally obvious. Circle sounds complete (not impossible but a lot of effort). Point Hope uses a sample of hinterlands who's who, which was also in a track in societas x tape. The guy who uploaded first uploaded to discogs, including an original pressing twoism and local Ediburgh bands from the 90s. He only posted to YouTube because discogs didn't believe him and took his listing down. The image he uploaded was a high res copy of the hooper bay cover.

And it just sounds like old BoC, something we know well from old tunes and r35tt. No, we don't have confirmation yet. But many thought r35tt was total BS until MDG confirmed its authenticity (mostly). This has happened before, with OT v1 and 2, and r35tt. But it has been a while.

Yes, open for debate. But my money is that this is the real thing.
