I am a mentally stable (mostly) 32. I like my age, whatever age I am. I'm always like "30 (or 26 or 16 etc) is gonna be the best age ever!". It doesn't always turn out that way but that's the attitude I take haha.

I lived with a 32 year old and her friends of the same age. She was cool : )rainier wrote:I am a mentally stable (mostly) 32. I like my age, whatever age I am. Judging by the responses in this thread, I'm in the running for oldest here.
edit: ah I see the other thread. So, I am not oldest.
But at 43, I'm up there I guess.

1969 in the sunshine here. I was born 3 months before we landed on the moon.
So I'm probably one of the oldest members here.. and it's the only band fan site I care to belong to.. mostly I'm on muffwiggler tho (site for modular synthesists) and I'm female making me an anomaly among anomalies in many respects.

wait wait what? You're female? No disrespect or misogyny meant but I did not expect a 44 year old female here.machinea wrote:1969 in the sunshine here. I was born 3 months before we landed on the moon.

That's really cool.
yep I grew up in the golden age of analog and became a pretty hard core synth fan by the time I was 12. I'm pretty close in age to boc and find most of their influences self referential in respect to my own experiences. They utterly make sense to my experience of sound and media growing up though I was in Southern California. in the last 10 years I started to acquire some electronic gear and start writing music. There are very few of us on synth sites I belong to so I'm really used to people assuming I'm male which isn't a big deal at all.

I really dig all the musical knowledge and experience you share here. And yeah, of course it's even more badass to me you being a fellow lady.machinea wrote:yep I grew up in the golden age of analog and became a pretty hard core synth fan by the time I was 12. Thanks! I feel the same way about my younger friends and as well as online friends because I think the 20-30 crowd tend to know the newest most interesting stuff. I do most of my music searching online, I'm hardly ever introduced to cutting edge or unusual stuff in person any longer which is a downside of being out of school, older and with most friends having kids there is no time for them to explore cultural expression much anymore.rainier wrote:I really dig all the musical knowledge and experience you share here. I am 46 (born in 1967, at the arse-end of the Summer of Love) so not quite the oldest here but I don't suppose I'm far off it.
Still, I'm less than three years older than Mike.
