My missus-to-be now has me on a pre-wedding diet (worryingly the wedding isn't until 2010). I might not pass this way for some time.....

Beef casserole my missus cooked. Hands down THE tastiest thing I've eaten in ages. Stewing steak, barley, carrots, onions, celery. Perfect Autumn chilly evening stodge. "Sticks to yer ribs" as my Mam says... :D

You have Stottie-bread in the States? Wow - usually 50 miles outside Newcastle and you've got no hope. Enjoy! :D

One of my all-time favourite memories. Woke up really really early in central Manhattan (jet-lag sucks). Got up at dawn and walked from the Empire State Building to the tip of Manhattan (past Ground Zero which had just been cleared. That was surreal). All the little delis and breakfast bars were just starting up and I had my first proper bagel sat watching the early-morning soap-opera that is NYC at around 6AM on a bright Summers morning. Happy, happy times.
