From the same guy, Knytt and Knytt Stories are also fucking amazing games. (The 2nd one is a sequel, plus fan-made games/levels+level editor)

Knytt 1 is best of them, IMO just for the atmosphere and size of the world.

Hell yes there's a giant squids..there's a 500-foot deep abyss you can dive to, its really creepy down there. As for the music, basically you just throw however many songs you want on an SD card and then you can play them when you're on the boat. You can't change the song while you dive though (it just repeats endlessly) so thats kinda a drag..but it works well as a feature. They should have just added a menu while you're diving to change songs.

Good call lol..and theres not really a time limit for how long you stay under. Your air tanks stay filled for a really long time, I'm not sure how long exactly..but they deplete quite slow.

I don't think any game holds as much beauty and nostalgia for me than Final Fantasy VII. I played it in my early teens and at that age I found the visuals, the storyline...everything just captivating. Probably the most rewarding game I've ever finished. I also have a great fondness for earlyish Nintendo games around the SNES era. Man I loved that console, Super Mario World and Zelda: A Link to the Past were just epic. Even now the visuals are stunning in their own way, and the music still sounds great!

i pretty much agree with everything you just said. even though ff7 gets crap these days for being hoverhyped and poorly translated, it still holds a special place in my heart. the music and the visuals especially. i invested so much time into that game.. getting the gold chocobo and beating the ruby and emerald weapons.

as far as snes goes. what a dream console. everything about it was perfect. there will never be another console with a lineup so solid. although ps1 and ps2 do some close... as much as i dont like to admit it. the consoles these days just dont seem like they will be the same.

PERFECT DARK. The original one on the Nintendo 64, what a game! I've been playing it again on the emulator with an Xbox 360 pad and it's still great. I think the story makes it more than anything, the Skedar aliens and the levels based on their planet at the end were something special. The music and weapons were ace aswell:

CUPS, you were totally right about this Noctis game! HOLY SHIT! I know what I'm doing with my free time now!

TR1 on the Playstation is still the most beautiful game I have ever played. Although the graphics made solving the more complex puzzles a bit of a headfuck sometimes, the way that the settings were based on some obviously well researched Aztec, Greek and european mythologies made it totally immersive. I'm playing Tomb Raider Anniversary on the Mac at the moment, which is a 'remake' of the very first game, and the graphics are obviously superior, but the 'puzzles' are way too easy.

I just got a chance to play a demo of Rez. It came out for Xbox 360, in the xbox live arcade, Rez HD. Awesome game, for anyone who also never played it, go try it out. I think I might go buy the full version

YES! I watched that at the E3 Sony press conference. It looks awesome. I have both ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. Great games!

Crysis for sure, especially if you can max it out.

If only the gameplay was on par with the graphics. Kinda sad when you can play through most of the levels on delta using strength mode and your fists... But at least it looks like you could take a nice vacation there. I liked how you can listen to radio broadcasts throughout the missions on crappy home radios to get an outside (wrong)opinion on what's going on, heh. Oh and throwing enemies through the walls of buildings is always great.



Also the Marine levels in the first AVP for PC. Sure the concept was simple, claustrophobic planetary bases and facilities with failing power and your radar beeping at dumb stuff like roaches building up suspense. The atmosphere and feeling it gave me was great, not many games immerse you that well.
