I want real endings. Fade-outs are too easy for boc.

What's wrong with fadeouts? Why does a song really need to 'end'?
Is it an OCD thing, guys?

Fadeouts have their uses, and there is simply no way to end some tracks than to fade them out. Best example: Farewell Fire. The fadeout, long and slow, suggests eternity to me. If they'd ended it, it would've just been like, BONK.

Oh christ that was bad.. i'd love to hear someone inventively use a BoC sample on a pop track, rather than just warbling over it for some shit album filler.
it will happen

Counterpoint...it's fanciful. One thing I like about BoC is how they draw in crowds of maths-and-science geekers and dreamy stoners alike. So when they compose music based on sacred geometry all the pasty english boys can cream their jeans, and then when a skydiver drops from the upper stratosphere and starts surfing it up, all the greasy haired potheads can go "woahhh awesome!!"

It's art, yo! It can be silly!

I've realised the thing I hate about BoC recently is the bass synth they use all over Geogaddi. You can hear it on Music is Math, Julie and Candy (check 5:13 there and you'll know what it is), You Could Feel The Sky, and possibly The Beach At Redpoint. It's just really irritating in its simplicity for some reason.

Haha i love what this thread turned into for like 10 straight posts! I don't think BOC have ever done anything i didn't approve of, except be so much more awesome than me of course =P

And for my two cents on the earlier discussion, i believe it is gooch.

I'm going to have to agree the only thing they've done that i can say was "wrong" was allowing the Beyonce's sister thing to happen. Other than that, absolutely nothing. Ever. And WTF on the hating the Odd Nosdam Dayvan Cowboy remix...anyone who has a problem with that remix has a problem with me.

Yes and yes. 100% correct.

Oh and to go back to the Dayvan Cowboy vid thing, I always saw that transition into the surfer as very, VERY tongue in cheek humour by them. A nod and a wink towards the stoner fraternity if you like. First time I saw it a chuckled and just thought, "Very good - funny".

I agree Beyonce's sister totally raped that song. I could only listen to the first 30 seconds
