They were awesome at the time, but I was on a Radiohead kick. A few months later I listened again and Peacock Tail punched me in the Mind, amazing track... You don't really expect those AWESOME drums to kick in after those beautiful chords.
Peacock Tail is certainly one of their most epic. God that build up is unreal and the final climax and payoff are the fucking holiest of holies.
I love everything I've ever heard from BoC with an endless passion, especially when they get all dark and trippy, but The Campfire Headphase is definitely the sweetest, most epic, and all around most impactful to me of all their releases. I never cease to jam that one on the highway, and I never seem to even halfway wear it out and it just keeps on endlessly pumping pure love into my brain, body, and mind. All their albums do this to me in some sort of way, but The Headphase just does it a lot more.
I had no idea at all before getting into BoC that music could have such high levels of depth and power and above all, replay value.
I love you.
man fucking intesnse guys but i feel the same way about the song 84 pontiac dream, from 0:59 to 1:15 specifically at 1:09 nowatimsayin???

chromakey dreamcoat was the true breaking point into awesomeness. my friends and i had a bonfire and smoked some illegal substances after a very long break, chromakey dreamcoat came on whilst they were all in the tent and i ran around the tent playing it giving a cool effect. it was perfect for the moment.

While it's not what made me get BoC, it sure is my favorite BoC song.

I can't imagine how anyone could actually have a favorite Boards song. There are just too many to choose from. If we are actually talking about favorite Boards songs then I have no idea what I would say.

I don't have an overall favorite. I just have what I'm listening to the most at the time. And currently it's Dawn Chorus. It just goes so well with these hot summer days.

I heard a lot of twoism tracks without really paying much attention to them. Also heard a few on adult swim bumps back in 2003ish. Then some time later I heard roygbiv and went "oh shit what's this?!" Eventually listened to twoism and went "oh these are the same dudes?"

Using that criteria then I would have to say the song I am listening to the most right now is Last Walk Around Mirror Lake [Boards of Canada Remix].

'84 Pontiac Dream reminds me of falling asleep and having vivid dreams in the backseat of our car when I was 9 years old. We went camping on the coast of Washington a lot when I was a child. The combination of great music like Zeppelin, the Stones, and Dylan and drifting smoke from the front seat with my vivid childhood imagination provided me with fantastic dreams I will never forget.
It also reminds me of great times in High School listening to the Smashing Pumpkins. However that is another thread for another day.
