Speaking of which... where the f**k is HL3 damn it.. I bet Valve are waiting until they mastered their virtual reality headset (
http://www.htcvr.com/) and maybe their Steam Machine (
http://store.steampowered.com/universe).
I know they are mainly concentrating on hardware now but surely they will want the ultimate compatible game to show it all off with.. that has to be HL3 surely.

Mkay. I am not quite as giddy about this.
If you pay attention to the graphics, it feels very strongly like they have used Creation Engine again. If you saw my post on the previous page you know what I think of that.
I am not a graphics nut actually, but I've pointed those out because they indicate that FO4 may well be running on the same old engine. And I don't know about you guys but I think Gamebryo/Creation is sluggish (even in terms of character movement), has terrible physics, incapable of handling the number of mods the average pc player uses, and is ultimately not modern.
That last part is very important because there are lots of different gameplay related things that are only possible with an up to date engine. Pay attention to the curtain blowing in the wind for instance, the animation is static. There are no physics on it that I can see, either that or the physics are poor. It is ugly and irritating, pretty much unacceptable in a modern AAA game for me. Now I realise that this is an open world game, but I think a brand new engine with today's hardware could accommodate something like that. The animation on the dog also looks like good old shite bethesda animation (a bit improved though), and his textures and model are surprisingly bad. Notice how they tried to show character's faces as little as possible?
Anyway, think of the complex scenarios, AI situations etc that are possible with modern engines (and despite being more up to date, Creation is essentially an old engine and it even had some of the same bugs as the old versions!). I may be wrong and it is a new engine, but I don't think so judging from this trailer. They might have blown their chance to reinvent their style of open world RPG. It looks like they are stuck in the past a bit.
Despite all that, I don't think it will be a bad game. Don't get me wrong I love these games and it could well be the best Fallout yet. It would take a new engine to realise it's potential in the world of 2015 video games though.

While I agree with you, I'm just completely happy that there is finally a new Fallout game coming out, I'm just enjoying that at the moment, I guess I'll take a look at reviews for the trailer and we'll se what they show and say in the E3, but yeah, I didn't feel that dog being quite as up to standarts, neither the Vault guy

Yeah Ashtray, as I said I love these games (esp Elder Scrolls) so if I am coming off as pessimistic that isn't the intention. I would however (rightly in my view) be very disappointed if they hadn't made the smart decision of build a new engine. It is really holding back the potential of bethesda games.

From what can be seen in the trailer it looks as a swiflty more polished Skyrim engine, but as it was a cinematic, that is subject to change. Also we will probably get a demo of some sort and more information (and hopefully a date of release) June 14th on E3, so looking forward to that

Aw c'mon cupz you should know this. It doesn't matter how new the engine is, if it is efficient you can lower the graphics settings until you get to a reasonable framerate.
Though most engines don't appear to be very efficient so...
(btw, my self-built pc is getting old too. so I'm in the same tent.)

Still running an old 360 so new engines are no use to me!

Your PC should not have any problems running it, don't worry

I always laughed at that, because in MGS4 Snake starts out by saying: "War... War has changed."

But ya, I'm extremely excited for Fallout 4.
