New song out, it's called ''The way you talk'' and it's a collaboration with Gotye.

It's pretty good, and Gotye's voice is pretty much the same as bibio's voice, haha.

Beautiful track, love Bibio the last years got appreciation to him, little too short maybe, but still very 'lush vocals and melodies fade away, looking forward for a physical copy

Yeah, 'The Way You Talk' is extreme lush factor. Bibio can tap into the true feels.

All of the songs from the new album I've heard from the new album are awesome. Really looking forward to hear the entire thing!

I would say this album reminds me very much of his last couple albums. Some amazing tracks in the batch, but some I could do without. Not uncommon for an artist that has been releasing so much material. Near impossible to come out with all gold with so many releases now.

Hoping for a "The Green" esque follow up EP.

I think that this is the most song-to-song enjoyable Bibio album since Ambivalence Avenue.

I don't mind the genre hopping on Bibio's albums at all. I find his track selection similar to the curation and sequencing of a mixtape or playlist, choosing songs that can exist next to each other and compliment one another, even though they are aesthetically much different. There's a certain care and sensibility that lies in track sequencing, and the arc of this album is the most satisfying narrative since his guitar and tape beginnings. And that's saying nothing of the actual songs themselves.

How about that surprise house jam on 'With The Thought Of Us' as the centerpiece of the album?! And the last track , 'Light Up The Sky', sounds like high-period Prince and is absolutely fucking gorgeous.

If the eps following Mind Bokeh and Silver Wilkinson are any indication of a release pattern, I'm looking forward to the outtakes from this recording period. I've always found the EP tracks just as enjoyable as the LP cuts. There are some real gems on those. Based on some of the snippets he shared on his (now deleted) Instagram that don't appear on this album, there are some truly beautiful synthy songs I can't wait to hear.

Loving Gasoline & Mirrors. The mixture of styles works on this one (much better than Mind Bokeh imo).

He always manages to do something very interesting with his blended styles. This album makes me think of under appreciated 70's tunes. Gasoline & Mirrors has that wonderful Bibio outro that I love so much my favorite outro is probably haikuesque but always lovely. Liking the use of the Arp Odyssey in there too..

his execution of this music is inspiring. having tracks like Wren Trails and Saint Thomas shape the record in an awesome way.

i think its an understatement to say Bibio admires boc... even the energy on 'Why So Serious'... i think of the Midas Touch remix boc made. the hours that bibio has spent really listening to boc shines through.

making me go into all of his work which I never have... funny how he too started on Mush where Why? Nosdam and Dose started releasing music. It's all threaded together!

Nice to see Bibio recommending one of my favourite Coltrane records. New tune is great too.

The album's nice.
As Ian said previously this meshes the various styles he dabbles in much more cohesively than previous records.

But it's also scaling back on the hard hitting tunes, even the Lone influenced The Way You Talk and Why So Serious go for pretty and sultry rather than being as explosive as they could be.

It's like he's trying to create the feel of his pastoral hazy guitar led records but with his new reputation as a genre hopper.
There's a lyrical theme which reappears about the city getting you down, and finding more freedom in the country, which seems like vintage Bibs.

Also a few references to older Bibio records in C'est La Vie, with the vocal melody being eerily close to Anything New, and Saint Thomas. If that's not a reference, I don't know what is.
It works pretty well. It's not as good as Ambivalence Avenue, but I think it might be as good as Silver Wilkinson.

I fully agree with you telepathic kid. As much as I live Bibio I had a feeling even when Ambivalence Ave came out it wouldn't most likely be topped. I had the same reaction at 15 when I heard Kate Bush's Hounds of Love And indeed it proved true.

Overall, I like this album more than SW, favorite track is C'est La Vie, and least favorite is Why So Serious. Makes me think of the Joker quote too much

Echoing others, this is probably my favorite Bibio album since Ambivalence Ave. The followup EP should be interesting, I think he's usually better at making a cohesive statements with his EPs vs LPs.
