I'm Maury/caldrax and I frequent several other message boards but for some reason never made it over here until now. Tomorrow's Harvest definitely drew me in today, as I just wasn't getting enough chatter about it everywhere else on the internet. I've lurked here and there for a long time... more so on the BoC pages. I've eliminated social media outlets such the book of faces and wanted to chime in here and there for better or worse through writing in some world-wide-web outlet.

I go to school for music however all my experience is with playing instruments and I have zero experience with production or analogue processes and there many great musicians here and I hope to use twoism as a place to learn.

One of my best homies brought Boards to my attention halfway through highschool. I have one more year of college left so it's only been that long. Tomorrow's Harvest is the first album I've be able to anticipate. While I'm not trying to make comparisons or pick favorites I would say Campfire Headphase is the album I've felt the most. It really scored experiences with my best friends growing up in highschool that BoC's ability to form a relationship with the listener has been unparalleled with any other music for me.

Hey Twoism-ers (or is it twoism-ites?).

I've lurked on and off on this board sort of randomly for a good long while, sort of popping in just to see what kind of BoC related news there might be floating around, usually when I was surfing around on bocpages. A bit more lately with the whole TH release and all that. I'm sort of an older head when it comes to my Boards fandom, having gotten into them in the late 90's. They quickly became one of my favorite go-to bands, for lots of reasons, mostly having to do with their sound being able to evoke ridiculous amounts of sense memory (some of the sounds on MHTRTC sound so close to the filmstrip soundtracks I grew up on as a kid in school it's uncanny).

Anyway I won't ramble too much, but I should add that I really don't listen to that much electronic music anymore other than BoC. I used to be way more into Autechre and AFX and the like, but a lot of that just leaves me cold nowadays. You're more likely to catch me listening to a Ty Segall record or Jeff the Brotherhood these days. Also, dub reggae. And the Kinks.

Anyway, just saying hi, I'm sure I'll get to know more of you around on here. Say hey or something.

Hey guys, just thought I would finally get round to introducing myself. My name Is Marty, from Ireland, a beeps n doots / noise maker for a few years now. I have been under a number of different names (Flim/Kitao/Uridium/Dj Slippytit/Bol-X) but have finally settled on the 'Bocuma' moniker for the past 6 years or so.

1st time discovering Boards was when in collage in 1999. I got back from HMV with a copy of Aphex Twins ambient works II, I popped into the pub for a quick pint (as you do) before I got home to listen to it.
My mate/barman working at the time seen my purchase and before I even got home to listen to it he wanted a lend of it, trading me with a copy of Music Has the Right to Children that he had on him. Have to say I was reluctant at 1st trading but after listening I was hooked and have been ever since. Funny tho I never got round to listening to that Aphex Twin cd untill about 6 months later

Is that Bellini or an uncanny likeness? And welcome, all.

Hey all! New member here. Big BoC fan since I stumbled across them when TCH was released back in 05. So Cal resident, and was totally bummed that I was road tripping back home instead of making me way out to lake dolores a few Mondays ago. Just recently started joining in with the online BoC community because of all the TH madness that started on RSD, and thought I'd finally register up here. So, see you guys 'round the forums!

My name is Cesar and I'm 18.
I'm from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and, the way I turned into a BoC fan is strange.

I always bashed them as "boring" and "shit" but, back in 2005, together with the release of The Campfire Headphase (which I don't like too much), I decided to take a listen on Geogaddi. Since them, I started to love them, understand them and worship them.

Since them, anything I tried to search about them was linked in this forum. So, I decided to register here anyway!

Although, I've been making music since 2008, with tracks ranging from IDM, drill and bass, breakcore, ambient music and, sometimes, field recordings experiments. Feel free to check them, if you want!

I'm Dave, I'm new here but I lurked heavily for the lead up to the album. I'm from Ireland but I'll be moving to Vancouver in October. On that note, anyone from Vancouver want to recommend some spots for good gigs (hip-hop, electronic music etc.) and record stores/fairs. Would be much appreciated.

I was not aware about the existence of this thread . I know this forum after somebody post a link on another forum to the compilation One on Twoism V, recently I decided to come out of lurking mode and registered here.
I'm from Poland, I'm a fan of electronic music since childhood - mainly thanks to a lot of such music used in film materials in Polish TV show "Sonda" in the early 80's. The show was about science, tech news etc. and was drived by 2 guys who shared the passion to science and technology. Unfortunately they died in a car accident in 1989, and then the show was also ceased (without these guys it would never be the same ...).

I've heard about BoC around 2001, but only as a band name in one of usenet groups, but had no occasion to check out the music, until ~2004 or 2005 (soon before The Campfire Headphase was released) - the one I've heard was Geogaddi which immediately became my favorite album. Later on I had Music Has The Right To Children and Twoism and then The Campfire... has been released and after that I was awaiting next album as many other BoC'ers here

I'm also composing music, I have two projects: Polaris and Scamall.

Polaris is more reffered to downtempo electronica with many influences of classic electronic from 70's and 80's and also nowadays electronic, where BoC if of course one of the important influences. Scamall is rather an ambient/experiment project, only one release so far - you can hear it also on-line on http://scamall.net.

It seems that i'm the newest fan here, or at least one of the newest. I only got into them last year!

It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance! My nickname is my year of birth in roman numerals, as the digital version is apparently already in use. I live in the Netherlands, and work as a psychiatric nurse.

There is much music I like, and probably much, much more that I don't. I think that I do not generally like cliché music that is thematically based on and/or build around simple sentiments. This is not meant as a Declaration of Acceptable Taste, but as an attempt to capture my musical (dis)taste in words.

Music that I do like, should capture, move, enchant or intice me in one way or another. This includes some psychedelic and post-psychedelic 60s and 70s acts, several other acts on the Warp10 label (though not to the same degree as BoC, and in most cases not even beyond checking out just some random tracks), some ambient, some - and I like to stress I'm talking about a very small minority here - black metal acts, some punk, even some - but even less than black metal or punk - hip hop, some classical stuff, some medieval stuff, some lounge, some space age bachelor pop and things that I forget to mention.

Some names might be helpful, not in order of preference: The Nice, Beatles, Incredible String Band, Boards of Canada (duh), Aphex Twin (AFX), Autechre (AE), pre-DSotM Pink Floyd, Tangerine Dream up to and including Phaedra but not most of what they did after that, Genesis up to And Then There Were Three, Brian Eno (especially his corborations with Harold Budd and Robert Fripp), Burzum, Botanist, Ildjarn, Veles, Akitsa, Klabautamann, Dead Kennedys, Cypress Hill, Strawinsky, Debussy, Mussorgsky, Clemencic Consort, Atrium Musicae de Madrid, Les Baxter, Martin Denny.

I must say that over the years I have become less enthusiastic about getting more new music into my home. The main reason for this is that I still enjoy music that I first heard years ago, and still play it on a regular basis. BoC are a good example.

I've already posted a couple times but I thought I might as well make an official introduction anyway.

I'm Steph, and I hail from Vancouver, Canada (and I'm proud to live in a place deemed worthy of their band name, among other things.) I'm an illustrator and a web/graphic designer. I like nature, nostalgia, and music, hence why I'm here I've been listening to Boards of Canada for the past 11 years of my life. 11 also happens to be my lucky number. Chances are my favourite track on an album is going to be track number 11. Except in the case of "You Could Feel the Sky", which is my favourite track off my favourite album.

Random facts aside, I've been lurking on these forums for years but finally decided to make an account because my desire to share and interact overcame my usual initial shyness towards participation in these kinds of communities. You all seem like a lot of extremely interesting, radical dudes, and we all have one very crucial thing in common, so.

Ps. davemac – Vancouver, eh? Zulu, Red Cat, and Scratch Records would be my initial recommendations. They're also the places I usually find out about upcoming concerts as they sell tickets. But, being so close to the border, it's not too far a trip to make it down to my personal favourite Everyday Music in Bellingham, Washington. Some of the best finds of my life...

Hello there. Decided to stop lurking, become a member, and figured well, I should introduce myself.

I became a BoC fan around TCH, as it was the first of their work I had ever heard. I quickly became attached to that album, and have kept track of the band. I heard of the six vinyls that were released during Record Store Day, and began to watch the updates pseudo obsessively. I love the way they unraveled, and made it a point to check out the footage of the Lake Dolores listening party. I also set aside the day of the full album listening party on Youtube because I wanted to hear it in it's entirety. Wanted to start yelling at the people who were saying "where's the drop?" and trying to compare it to Skrillex! No comparison, no drop, and wanted to start sounding like one of the Stormtroopers from New Hope: "Move along. Move along."

Anyway, it is nice to meet you all, and I hope at some point I can add some good posts to this forum.
