That is a great idea, thanks for posting that. Unfortunately we've never had many good contacts with the Japanese fans in the past. There's a couple Japanese interviews we know exist, for example, but haven't had the resources to find. How well do you know Japanese? :)
I can get by, can you tell me where to search for these interviews?!
Here's what info I've managed to find: http://bocpages.org/wiki/Unconfirmed_in ... interviews

There was also one in Bounce that had the full text online but it seems to offline now :/ http://bocpages.org/wiki/Interviews#2005-10-25:_Bounce

EDIT: Some results from Google that might have a copy of the Bounce interview...

Long time fan. Been reading these boards constantly over the last couple days. Finally decided to get involved and help (I hope) solve this thing. For what it's worth here are my thoughts so far:

- The 2nd vinyl find is a fake (you may be at this point already, apologies if so)
- The ASCII/hex theories all seem a bit too computer geeky for BoC. They seem far more interested in nature than tech although now I'm typing this I'm starting to doubt myself? HELP!
- Two codes down in 2 days. Will it continue at this pace? Or are they being drip fed as and when BoC decide depending on our progress? Or at predetermined times/dates? Point is, if it does continue at this pace and by the end of the week we have all 6 codes (and presuming nothing else happens) the wait 'til June would seem a while and might lose a lot of the interest built up from this campaign, no? Virals are short lived and they will know that

Anyway, hi all

hey man, thanks for dropping by and helping us with this :D
we never really thought the 2nd vinyl is real to begin with so yeah.
"Two codes down in 2 days" is an interesting one, seems like we'll be getting one every day.. maybe not, we'll see by the end of today if that theory is correct.

So two codes in two days.. Maybe that vinyl is the only one in existence and the other codes will all be delivered in via other means.

I've been trying not to get too excited about all this but I cannot control it any longer..I am buzzing my tits off haha :D

Has anybody else in the UK checked record stores close to them? I'm going to try and check a couple this weekend, just on the off chance one of these records is sitting about somewhere.

Whaaaat?! So there's more than one copy of the 4th code record?

Yeah what the hell? If this is legit it certainly confuses things a little bit. Can't remember where I read that there were only six records being sent out but I swear I did? Perhaps that was a guess. I was gonna hit up Rough Trade this weekend too!! :(

They also tweeted:
You had to discover it, not just ask for it. #browse
Which probably means ringing up record stores and asking if they have it might result in a 'no' either way.

This makes sense - they wanted the first clue to be discovered in the form of a vinyl record and since they were putting it out on RSD there was a chance someone might have just bought it and left it to gather dust on a shelf. The more vinyls with the fourth set of XXXXXXs they put out there, the more chance there was of someone finding it. For all we know the guy in New York might have just been the first guy to make it publicly known that he bought a copy - who knows how many more have been sold to people who are completely unaware of the new release hype.

You've definitely got a point there. And seeming as the second code came from non-vinyl source makes sense further clues won't come from vinyl.

I find it amazing that it sat there for so long, but I guess no fanbois had got down there and checked.

The temptation to quit work and go to Leeds and check there is almost overpowering.

Someone guessed Rough Trade earlier as well! I could have had people go and check. Dammit!

Do we know for sure that there are any more records? or is that speculation

quite literally everything that has happened between the 2 codes and the 2 vinyls has been pure speculation
