I think that book is already out, it contained previously released interviews he had done, including one he did with BoC (I think for Pitchfork).

Retromania? Good book that.

What I don’t understand is if Tape 05 isn’t on the album (actual video version), what is it? Everything they do is so meticulous and thought out.
If some think it’s for a later release (boc set, whatever), why come out of a 13 year slumber and post that with no relevance at the moment, esp. to the mega new album release?
After listening to today’s “single” release it wouldn’t seem out of place, IMO. From what little we’ve heard so far it feels like anything is possible on this album. And the video images line up with the album art. Guess we’ll find out if it’s Father and Son soon!
To come back to life and drop this gem and have it not be connected to anything doesn’t seem like them…

Similar thoughts, North. Interested to see where that fits in with the project. It doesn't feel very aligned with what we've had so far.

I think if tape 05 was on the album we would be able to download it from bleep like these first two tracks. We know BOC always has a lot of tracks that don’t make the actual album, this could be one that was too good to not share. Don’t get me wrong though, I’d be very stoked if tape 05 was on there

I think it may have been released as a kind of invocation. It never made sense to me that the Tape 05 music would appear on Inferno because it feels so specifically connected to the video.

I think if it's not on the album, then it was a teaser for the album. Maybe a leftover from the sessions.

Keep in mind tho Semena Mertvkyh was used in the "Trailer" for TH but it was not put up for download anywhere in advance but it ended up on the album anyway..so to me it doesn't feel like much yet.

TAPE05 could easily be a teaser track for the album that doesn’t land on the album itself. Even the name feels like it’s announcing LP5.
Artists do this all the time. 05 is such a simple track too, I can see how they would have that apart from the album, like a sketch. It adds mystique to the band too, not that they need more of it, to have a loose track that doesn’t land anywhere officially.
I don’t know how much overlap there is between BOC and Kendrick Lamar fans, but Kendrick had something like this with his latest release. The announcement video for GNX contains a snippet that wasn’t on the album and hasn’t been released officially:
— like I said it adds to their mystique, Kendrick’s fanbase has certainly ran with it

Thoughts on possible video on the cd? If what dude says is true, there are more vidz to come. Would be a bit of a waste to only allow viewers of the pre-release party to see it.

Whoever said (forever ago) that there next step would be “sampling themselves”, hats off to you bro.
Prophecy was Palace Posy-sounding and I loved it. The recall of Geogaddi, the energy of Music Has the Right, the attitude of Campfire Headphase, and the inversion of Tomorrow’s Harvest. My brain is splattered against the wall, I am in awe.

They have always said in interviews that their approach to making music is sampling themselves. And I love how much it grooves like Palace Posy too.

Listening to Societas in preparation for Inferno... I reckon there'll be a track with similar vibes to Flayer - Wanna Get Back Your Love late in the track listing. Something epic, almost religious, early-80s, wistful synth / guitar, end-of-summer, end-of-times proper tearjerker.

Did he say when? Might be after release. Not sure I’d listen to another before the whole thing drops!

He didn't say when (or what, to be fair).
Just that the trailer and yesterday's video are his only work on this (so far...) then a post about more still ahead
