But 519225 isn't even a prime number
Oh crap, you're right - I hadn't noticed the last one wasn't. Even with just 6 digit numbers you could still try all combinations within a few hours however.
Also, and this may well change if they notice - you can see what sub folders on the site exist because of an error in the way they have it set up.

Permission errors take you to a 403 page, 404's redirect you to a holding page. So you could just keep trying combinations until you hit a 403. For instance:

http://boardsofcanada.com/images/ definitely exists

http://boardsofcanada.com/nonexistpage probably doesn’t

I like the idea of the whole thing being a giant url in the end. True, it could be cracked....but isn't that only assuming that there would be a page up at that address right now? Could they not wait until close to the moment of the final code to upload the page to their server? Maybe I'm just misinformed about something though... :P I'm not a website guru or anything.

Yeah true, it just seems a bit arbitrary then though. They put all this effort in everywhere else, I'm expecting to have to whittle a stick to the combined length of the numbers, put it in a slot in a precise place in the Pentlands to determine the place to dig for the master tapes.

Strange that there's no indication of where these digits belong in the sequence

I'm imagining a digital download scenario for this a la radiohead or MBV... with hopefully much better server architecture to handle the incredible load.

But just in case I'm wrong, I'll maybe book a flight to Scotland and find a good shovel.

From the 2020k blog :

''Theory: All of the numbers, except the NPR number have a double digit in the last three numbers. 717228, 936557, 519225 However, if you reverse the NPR number completely backwards so that it reads 247996 instead of 699742, it follows suit with the double digit theory.

Then, after the NPR number is reversed, take a look at the last number following the double digit. 717228, 936557, 519225, and if we reverse the NPR number we get 247996. With this theory, the string of numbers would be ——/——/717228/936557/699742 (or, reversed 247996)/519225. So, the first set of numbers should theoretically end in a double digit, followed by a 0 (or possibly xxx110). The second set of numbers should theoretically end in a double digit, followed by a 9.

No word on what this all means or if this theory is legitimate in the long run. Extraordinary thanks to @cydoniac for this! If anything, it’s good thinking.''

Anyone know about what time in the NPR recording the new set of numbers comes in?
