Temple Grandin Great film based on a true story.
"Biopic of Temple Grandin, an autistic woman who overcame the limitations imposed on her by her condition to become an expert in the field of animal husbandry. She developed an interest in cattle early in life while spending time at her Aunt and Uncle's ranch. She did not speak until age four and had difficulty right through high school, mostly in dealing with people. Her mother was very supportive as were some of her teachers. She is noted for creating her 'hug box', widely recognized today as a way of relieving stress and her humane design for the treatment of cattle in processing plants, even winning an award from PETA. Today, she is a professor at Colorado State University."

Fun fact: The voice of dr.Carlock reminded me a lot of a sample which I used at the intro of my Hidden Channel mix. The sample origins from the 50s, so I figured it couldn't be the same person. It still haunted me because the voice sounded exactly alike so I looked it up. The sample is from the movie Good Night, and Good Luck which I didn't know. Although I did recorded the sample from youtube myself, I didn't really notice that it was "fake". I guess I was too focussed on the audio to see that is wasn't original footage.

I <3 Huckabees. This movie is incredible. It's existentialist theme keeps you thinking about the nature of reality and existence and makes you think about the things in life that we usually shy away from thinking about and preoccupy ourselves with things that are just taking up time before we have to face the inevitable.

after watching RedLetterMedia's third review for the Star Wars prequel movies, I decided to rewatch the Empire Strikes Back and wow. Even though I watched the movie a thousand times as a kid there were so many details I never noticed. Not only in the shots but in the story too. Truly excellent movie. I never fully appreciated the scenes with Yoda until now.

I cried in that movie.

Black Swan was amazingly awesome not to mention the hot sex scene between Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. But the movie was a piece of art. It was done so well.

I watched the first 15 minutes or so of Enter the Void - I'm really looking forward to finishing it soon I hope. IMDB's description goes: "A drug-dealing teen is killed in Japan, after which he reappears as a ghost to watch over his sister." Its pretty trippy I guess; a psychadelic melodrama. Its all shot in first person as a dude living in japan. I had to stop it during his out of body experience. The colors are amazing.

Scott Pilgrim vs the World for sureeees. Monsters was also pretty damn neat I thought.

I saw fantastic planet a little while ago. It's a french anime'ish movie from 1973. Supposed this movie is really something with drugs...

Requiem for a Dream. The ominous onset of insanity seems so frightening, especially knowing it's too late when you finally realize there's a big problem.

La Planete Sauvage! That movie is in my top 3 most impressionable films for sure. I think you'll enjoy an article I wrote on that film specifically. This film is philosophical, symbolic, abstract, and quite alien.

I just watched the movie "Head" for the first time since I was a child.

Great fucking movie, fantastic soundtrack too.

Just watched Planet of the Apes (the 1968 original) for the first time in years - had forgotten how good it is.

Yes. The first song in the movie is easily the best thing they ever did.

I just watched 12 Monkeys for the first time. I had no idea it was a Terry Gilliam flick till very recently so I had to check it out. Rather enjoyed it. Nice brain twister of a movie.

I'm sitting down now and am about to watch Spaceballs. I haven't seen it in a few years now and I love it.

I recently saw the Shawshank Redemption for the first time. I nearly lost it when the warden killed himself before the authorities got to him.

Good one, but I don't think Mel Brooks will ever top Blazing Saddles.
