Me: "Broadcast. Do you like it?"

4yo: "it's a bit scary"

Me: "would you like me to turn it off?"

4yo: "actually no. I like the sounds. It's a bit ghosty though. I hope there isn't any ghosts in it."

My 3 year old daughter loves Geogaddi in the car. Sunshine Recorder came on the other day and she started mimicking the phased sound in the intro with a huge cheeky smile on her face. Love my monkeychops

Aw. It's stories like this and A_Northern_Soul's kid stories that make me wanna have kids. I'm just extremely afraid of the idea at the same time. I suppose that's normal to be afraid of that, but perhaps not to my degree. I'm not exactly healthy, far from it. I don't want to have my own child have as rough a time as I did. Things will change once I find myself a woman, I'm sure. I'll probably let her convince me to have kids, if she's the right lady.

Anyways, I've been listening to Bibio a whole lot again lately. I listened to Vignetting the Compost in it's entirety yesterday. Such good music! I for some reason only realized yesterday that Bibio's music, especially Vignetting the Compost, would fit my father's musical taste perfectly. I'm gonna send him a link to the album today. Cross yer fingers everyone!

One on Twoism volume 6. I think I have never heard this 1 before. Damn, it's about time. And as always, it's awesome.

Fugazi - The Argument

A truly great album, as with anything in their discography. If you haven't heard it, I urge you do. Raw grooves, blistering vocals, tight as fuck rhythm section. The one band I wish I could've seen live, but likely never will.

I've heard parts of Red Medicine from Fugazi, and the tracks I listened to from the record you posted are much more melodic and mellow than that.
They actually have elements of post punk and no wave (or at least thats what my ears pick up). Seems influenced by This Heat or the No New York compilation to an extent.

I mean it's still has the essence of a hardcore punk band, but there's something more mature and ambitious about it. I may have to give it a go, thanks Fudgie.

I've been indulging in Elliott Smith's Either/Or lately, on the recommendation of someone who thinks they know my taste well.
You know what? I guess they do, I'm diggin' it.

Amazing album. Elliott Smith was such an incredible songwriter. I can hardly listen to him these days, as it's simply too sad. It's just too close to the bone. He was like a one-man Beatles with severe depression and a drug problem.

this part is so gritty it's like my teeth are being dragged over concrete.

Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell. A stone cold classic

in the classic record dept - C&L is only missing the aspect of time.

Talk Talk is pretty awesome, I made a playlist with a shitload of golden oldies, while making that list I really discovered Tears For Fears as well, such an amazing band.
