I urge you to just go to the cheapest barber you can find and just say "you have complete creative freedom". Thats how I did it anyway.

Dude, that's exactly what I did last summer, and that was even worse than this time around. That time I hated it even more than this one. It was a nightmare growing it back out, I didn't get used to it. I hated the guy in the mirror every damn day until my hair was long again.

EDIT: I should add, just in case there's any doubt, that it was a good haircut. Everyone was telling me I looked fantastic. It was not a bad short haircut, it was just short.
