I expected to get a sooner confirmation on who the artist is.
Yeah the quality is poor but part of it might be that it's an MP3 <128.
So I'm not gonna throw this purported Acid Memories out the window.
So MDG says How Will I Know, EV clss TT pn and GE clis EE plmt prt are fakes then?
Can you tell us any more of what this guy said about his "copy?" Any descriptions, why the sound is like this, when he got it, etc.?

Either this has a chance of being legit, or a new type of fake is the ol' "fuck it up so bad you can't discern details" trick. Either way, it's relatively decent.

Acid Memories and they posted it today.
I knew from the outset it was probably a fake due to Duffy but it sounds interesting.
Does anyone know who the real artist is?
Holy shit, this is an amazing fake.

Actually IIRC Paracat/FlamingoPudding posts here.
Hi Paracat. Thanks for making such a cool fake. Before I heard Patryk's upload of it tracks like Growing Hand legitimately had me fooled. You are a master with attention to detail, but what should have tipped me off was 1) Duffy doesn't match the sample 2) You used human voices on a bunch of the tracks, particularly children's voices which (purportedly) weren't used before Hooper Bay. But if one hadn't heard the Duffy sample or read the Scaruffi reviews/bocpages this would easily pass for Acid Memories.

Phaelam - found one of those tracks on an old HD saved as "godever" - and it isn't godever... So if you found them all in the one place I guess they're all bad

not surprised

not sure why people do that. would be cool if the old stuff just got released.

Yeah, I'm hoping for it every day.. Seeing as one of the brothers even stated that they sorted out and catalogued their old stuff.. Come on, BoC!

Agreed, then I wouldn't embarrass myself jumping on something that has that sort of BoC feel, because the fakers are getting better at 1) the low fidelity 2) the melodies 3) the emotions 4) actually composing/recording something as opposed to just compiling some Mum tracks or fan covers/variations. I
could be less gullible sure but that's besides the point.
The reason we have fakes, obviously, is because we don't have the legits. And yet, these releases are probably the most debated over on this forum, with only an accumulated confirmed 5 or so minutes of music from them and maybe an hour or 40 minutes of speculated tracks what with R35.
I just really, really want, say, Acid Memories, and I don't even care if it comes in a fucking green coloured jewel case that breaks easily with a shitty insert card with kerning that doesn't even have a booklet with it. I just want to hear a legitimate, confirmed version of their early music in full.
But of course, none of that, the shit packaging, even releasing this music, is BoC like.
What's the official version they aren't releasing these tapes? Mastering issues? Unlicensed sampling?
Do they just not want us to hear them?
Seriously, the more I listen to BoC pre-Hi Scores the more this eats me alive.
