The whole August 22nd, 1996 thing has always intrigued me. It's the last login date on the cosecha site and the numbers are in the TH artwork. I know there was a lot speculation as to the significance of this date already in this thread, but this year would mark the 20th anniversary of that date. Not saying it means anything, but still very intrigued by the date, especially with numbers being so prevalent in BOC works. And the 2:57 time stamp also being the same # of the TH release (WARPCD257).

There's a million rabbit holes here, I know. From welfare reform being signed on that date (aka "Apocalypse Now"), to William James Millar Mackenzie's death, to the Red Sox victory over the Oakland Athletics.

I really do wonder about the dates/these numbers. It's like a scab that won't heal!

there's nothing more behind this website, it was a tool for the album PR thing and that's about it.

just posting because i noticed you didn't know about this, north by north:

Genesis 8:22

“While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease.”

I figured that was what the 8/22 must have meant as it fits too perfectly. But what about the 1996? I haven't figured out why that year or number was chosen. Anyone figured that out? I know and have some theories, but nothing as obvious as the Genesis reference. "Hi Scores was released in 1996. Hi Scores has June 9th on it and the album was released on the closest regular music release day to June 9th." Grasping at straws, I know, but it's a theory I haven't seen talked about here and I'm just adding to the pot.

Ah- that does shed some meaningful light on the significance, thank you.

As for 1996, I think I'll exit the rabbit hole now!

That's just you being haunted by a polter, arvy.

Interesting how the input rate changes from character to character, almost as if it was slowly typed by hand. Can you tell us how this happened/was triggered? Have you ever drawn big pentagrams on your floor?

Its probably a bug, leave it in that state for a couple days to be sure xD

I noticed it about 2014, if you look early posts in the thread I was explaining it,

yeah probably a bug, only because nobody ever had this except me, also my other pc don't show anything interesting,

but the fun thing is that it will show these symbols for about a week and then a week nothing, and again some thing like a pattern,

also that symbol reminds of an owl,
owl of minevra

Just out of curiousity...could it be a keyboard language setting? Do you have anything other than english as a keyboard?

That fact alone is why I ask - it happens at my work all the time (Canadian installs will often include a French keyboard as well) - people will inadvertently hit the key combo to switch languages without even knowing, and all of a sudden there is no more punctuation...they get É, é instead :D

yeah I get you, I have lithuanian and english, and I got these ąčęėįšųū, but how it explains automatic appearing of those symbols out of nowhere and just that symbol is interesting, still until nobody getting anything like this, it is probably irrelevant

Actually funny you should mention it. I didn't have the keys appearing on their own but when I used the arrow keys and maybe some 'F' buttons, random symbols would appear in their place. Try using every key on the keyboard, guys. There is definitely something interesting afoot.

I had a look at the javascript behind the terminal. If my understanding is correct, when you enter a password it sends a PHP query that *always* returns an error. It's designed so that if the password is correct, it will redirect you to a URL. But in its current state it will always return an error and a blank URL every time. It could be changed in the future, but right now there is nothing else to it.

This is makes sense, so I will ask, is it possible to somebody from the system to contact the user? Dunno if jt makes sense, hope you understand

I'm not completely sure, but it seems unlikely. A lot of the script has been obfuscated, but it looks like its just for the construction of the interface. It would need to be a lot more advanced to do what you're suggesting.

Oh thanks for the explanation,
Actually what you said in the post above adds to my theory, you can't enter a correct password, but the question is where all the answers go, is it possible that the data is saved?
So if the theory with the symbol impossible because of the reasons you said, but to consider this is just a bug, the way the symbol appears, for almost two years and probably longer anyway, I made some changes on my keyboard settings and it stop, but this was happened before, gonna wait and see
