i never listened to this on the listening party recordings because i knew it wouldnt do it any justice.
I like it, i see how people dont but i think its classic. A little hard at first but almost opposite to Nlogax an amazing song emerges out of the mess. Love the production on the drums

hm...this song doesn't really sound difficult to digest at all to me. it has grown on me though. the main sample used is beautiful, sounds like a whale song being played through a casio sk-1. like a basinski disintegration loop with a beat.

I have to say, out of all the tracks from last night's listening experience, this was the least good for me. It didn't seem to match up with the expectations I had of it (those expectations had been set by the reviews I'd read). I was expecting some lovely track at the beginning which slowly had more and more layers added to it until there was some beautiful cacophony going on, but on first listen it just seemed a little repetetive. I think maybe i wasn't focussing enough on it. Just didn't seem as immediately incredible as I was lead to believe it might be.

I like the song, but I don't agree with the review that stated something to the effect of it being "the most epic thing they've recorded" or w/e. I did like the way the synth came in towards the end, but then, a lot of songs on the album did that.

I was apprehensive at first, but with headphones the 4 minute mark is pretty blissful, it really is the masters at work again.

The snare sound throughout this track kinda ruins it for me. Grates on me a little.

Ah yes, i remember hearing a snare in one track that particular stuck out. Sounded like a default preset snare from a Dr Rhythm DR-660, like the Rock kit or something.... got used to it in the end though

The snare is what i love!

I don't have a favourite track yet as it's all really good, but this one is sitting high on the list. It's skewed, drunk feeling, and more surreal/psychedelic than anything else on the album.

After a legitimate listen, this track is eaaassssily one of my favorites from BoC. Nailed it - the tune is dying people, it sounds like music, dying.

well, it is alittle strange but I find it gives the track an amazing structure that feels like it's soaring up into the air.

Geogaddi had lot of grating tracks but everyone liked that album.

Every snare pop makes me think of a causeway support beam. Causeways tend to be long, so there are many of them (and thus a lot of snare pops).

The more I listen, the more I'm convinced this is the slightly more chilled brother of Nlogax.

This track gives me really strong imagery. I get the sensation of a playing a video game where you are running a psychedelic path (think Rainbow Road in mario kart with a paisley pattern).

The other part about this track that gets me is how the melodies don't fully go away, just into a background soup.

I know BoC has a rather strong hip-hop influence, most apparent on their earlier works...but for some reason when I hear this song it really makes me think of g-funk. Particularly I'm reminded of Down For Whatever by Ice Cube, though without the screaming moog and without the gangsta and with the BoC.

Maybe I'll do a mashup and join a long tradition of BoC and hip hop mashups. The best one I ever heard was Aquarius and Lodi Dodi by Slick Rick.

a preliminary review mentioned some jdilla influence. I hadn't thought of it but have been listening to dilla as of late and can loosely hear the connection.
