Najlepsiejszy wrote:Mate, first they talk about how materialistic everyone is, how society is screwed up, they release Tomorrow's Harvest and then they release 100 posters for 40 quid each. If they really are that desperate for money, they should release music. This poster isn't even cool, it's just TH artwork. It's lazy on so many levels. It's basically them saying "we know you'll gobble up everything we shit out, so here, spend some money on a coloured A2 piece of paper lol". It's absolutely abysmal behavior.

I have the original TH poster, but it's not like anyone made a big deal out of it or charged 40 pounds for it. And it wasn't limited to 100 copies as if posters are something to pray to. Christ...
I agree with you man. But better be careful in a nest full of BoC worshippers. In my opinion BoC lost its magic after TCH. It's all about marketing, hype and cash now. You want some T's? Better restock then. Oh you want the albums on Vinyl? Let's repress them. Want a poster? Give me 5, ehh.. 40!

The boxset is probably next for sale: Same tunes, different quality, for a special price. Pre-order now!

I like how we saw a little BoC symbol on Bleep's website, and Decided to get our hopes INCREDIBLY high, only to be disappointed. all that they promised us was "something that has to do with BoC", so its really your fault if youre whining about it lmao

I doubt very much that BOC would be able to stop Warp/Bleep selling these. Could be wrong, but guessing they have a contract somewhere allowing Warp reasonable merch rights? £40 is too rich for me, but then again value is in the eye (or wallet) of the beholder. At least the album release didn't jump on the usual 'collectors edition' premium price bullshit that so many others peddle these days. If Warp want a quick cash in, fine. I choose to keep my cash. My choice. If it had been £20 I'd have considered it maybe.

The disappointment for me was more around the fact this is effectively nothing new as such. The art is nice but something we already have from the album itself.

You mean a shop ran out of stuff and....bought more stock? Wow. Capitalist pigs. For me they definitely lost their edge when they sold that second copy of the first album.

I'm not offended by you at all

Somehow BoC can stop Warp from releasing their back catalogue to which Warp has full rights, but somehow they can't stop them from releasing a poster cashing in on their name. Cool

You really think it was all Warp? They used their photos without even asking? Warp is an independent label, I find it hard to believe it

.....and there was me thinking it was a nice little Boards of Canada item to purchase on the lead up to Xmas. Little did I know there was so much politics about a poster ltd to 100 copies. I might frame mine.

As for new music, it will come when it's ready, which could be a few years.

Yeah! Who would've ever thought that the music industry would be so unscrupulous as to do something like that?
If The Campfire Headphase was a butterfly, would Acid Memories be the caterpillar?

Unfortunately I have no clue lmao. But while you're here, go ahead and check out some of my tunes! You might dig 'em and stuff!

noisy wrote:For Fucks Sake! This is BLEEP selling the posters, NOT BOC. They (bleep) probably had some promotional items they held back for a rainy day,and have now decided to sell for an arm and a leg. No one has to buy them. Its bleep who have made out that these items are special and one off...
Boc material is sold on and off the internet at varying prices. The guys don't have a a say in the price any individual wants to sell these items at. lots of their stuff is out there at extorionate prices , vinyl cd's stickers prints etc, it's not their fault.
Bit harsh blaming Boc and shouting off about it.
Write a letter to bleep or email them and tell them what Scunners ( old Scottish word) they are.
That's what I was thinking. Warp/bleep probably just wanted to give something to the fans for the holidays. I'm a bit perplexed why they're over 40 American dollars, with only 100 copies printed. Maybe they hope they'll be valuable collector's editions someday?

We still never found out what "something special" was, so perhaps it might be a bit too early to go off. But yeah, a poster for the price of 280 gumballs is too rich for me.

I'm offended, because BoC were supposed to be something else than quick cash grabs. But I was wrong this whole time

If you don't want to agree with me, that's fine. But don't show your blindness by saying stuff like that. I thought we all loved this band because they wouldn't resort to that, but eh I guess we all have different standards
