Fuck all that TCHP, the album sucked donkey for me, and kinda destoryed a little bit of boc for me, going from Geog to campfire was one of the worst things they did, but sure thay came back with trans-can.

They need to go back to the hard/darker stuff, not nessiserily Geog, but pre-MHT... stuff.
i feel something will come out this year, maybe a new ep please, but they need new tracks like nlogax, sixtyten, telephasic workshop,
an eagle in your mind, chinook, everything you do is a balloon(they will never beat this track), red moss, 1-08 Audiotrack 08, gyroscope, the beach at redpoint the list goes on! TCHP just did not cut it as in there best work. i mean everything before TCHP seemed like more thought and love etc went into them, to me THPC was thrown together and aged just to get something out before the media forgot about them. i hope they get there real sound back.

I still find my-self listen to all there back cat through-out the year but ALWAYS skip TCHP cause its pants and its over two years old now, aged badly

I'm all for difference in musical taste, but it's sure sad to see Campfire Headphase get shit on by everyone .

campfire headphase is great. "oscar see through the red eye," "hey saturday sun," and "chromakey dreamcoat" are some of their best song in my opinion. i know i'm the minority around here but i honestly feel that album is really well put together, more so than "music has the right to children."

they evolved plain and simple. you may like music has the right and dislike headphase, but either way it is a clear and strong evolution. in this way I feel like the campfire headphase is more "boards of canada" than music has the right can ever be//

Define early and minimal/simple? I wouldn't dare saying tracks on MHTRTC are extremely minimal/simple nor less sophisticated in such a manner that there's a huge gap between MHTRTC/Geogaddi and The Campfire Headphase.

I think there's a lot to MHTRTC/Geogaddi and to be honest I've listened more times to Geogaddi than any other album... there's just something about Geogaddi that grabs my attention everytime... an air of mystique... or perhaps I'm just more fond of the more dark and sinister tracks. Not that I dislike TCH or anything, but it just doesn't grab me the way other albums by BoC do.

But, I'm really looking forward to what they will bring next. And I find it kinda odd that there hasn't been a new BoC in 2007 even though some proper sources told there would be a new album in 2007. At least sources I thought that could be considered as proper sources; like hexsunofficial on watmm.
And what about a box set of old tunes?

Well, I agree that they're earlier work was more minimal. The newer stuff just progresses so much more and there is so much more added to the songs. I'm not saying this makes them any better (even though I usually do listen to their newer stuff more than their older stuff), but there is a big difference to me when comparing all of their albums. I think this debate will never have an answer though, since everyone prefers a different album over the others.

i completely disagree with the post stating that their earlier work was more minimal.

personally, tchp IS a brilliant album...yet, i can only play it, and fully enjoy it at specific times.

i went walking in the woods often during the summer, i would listen to geogaddi whilst doing so, but tchp was the perfect album to listen to upon returning home…whilst lying in bed... reminiscing, dreaming etc…

it is more complex nowadays! i strongly dislike boc maxima and some of their other older works. try to tell me songs like "red moss," "chinook," or even "sixtyniner" are more complicated than "oscar see through the red eye," "alpha and omega"....

boc maxima has the best BoC track on it of all time!!!!!!!!! (whitewater)

yeah, I'd like more stuff like maxima, twoism, hi scores too... but I don't think it's likely.

speaking of which, i really need a copy of boc maxima. any suggestions?

I think what's genius about BoC is how beautiful some of their simpler work is, but everyone has their own ideas about what makes them great.

My two fave BoC tracks right now are probably Pete Standing Alone and '84 Pontiac Dream.

i don't want retreads. i love 'left side drive', and the rest. i'm looking forward to "new" boc, fresh stuff. they make sweet tunes, and i want to hear some extrapolation on new ideas

The campfire headphase is an awesome work, full of sense and emotion. I think similar to Opothecary, Boc are a great band and they are able to make deepest albums I ever heard & seen, althought that works couldn't like you. So TCH should be more popular for me, their best vignette-songs are on it, listen carefully...

the campfire headphase is more like their old stuff actually. really old stuff.

a fairly fast record,full of driving basslines

I hope they go korona, xyz, certain live tracks like track 7 at atp, track 3 at lighthouse and track 7 at warp style! yeah! love those tunes.
