I think Dawn Chorus is one of the best tracks BoC ever produced, in honesty.

but the creepiest one has to be Diving Station

Gyroscope, hands down. That drum loop is insane (tying in with the synaesthesia thing, that drum loop almost physically hurts to listen to), plus the numbers station stuff gives me the heebie jeebies.

None of those... the last 1:45 of Music is Math, hands down, perhaps their most disturbing and haunting one ever, I can't stop listening to that specific track for it.

the tearing and warbly background sound is vocals slowed WAY down. when i was a kid my brother and i mucked about with reel to reel tape and slowed it way down....sounds the SAME as that. haunting.
you can here the breath passing through the throat at that speed.

i had sped that track up to 11 sec.....and thought i heard people in a room...one says "we hate you all, we hate you all..." then laughter.

but i took a lot of flak for posting that.
i thought, as geogaddi was made to have people poke around...that it be fitting. like they were sitting around joking...wouldn't it be funny if we tossed in a little FU for fun ha ha ha ha.

i think it could be sped up to hear whats said, but it gets too mashed.

Surprised no-one's mentioned "Olson" (Verson 3), to be honest. There aren't that many BoC tracks I find to be truly 'disturbing', but that one probably comes the closest. As opposed to the very warm and calming studio version of the track, Version 3 sounds like aimlessly stumbling around in a haunted forest, frantically flailing a flashlight around, while the music plays out like a posthumous lament, like it already knows you're done for. Quite a chilling track, and those sounds that come in periodically that sound like heavily fragmented human laughs don't help either.

I disagree with most of these.

One of my favorite tracks, and perhaps one of the darkest, if not "disturbing", would be Sunshine Recorders. Had a horrible and unexpectedly strong/sudden salvia trip while it played and the green-ness of Sunshine Recorders made me think I was doomed to spend eternity in some kind of prison/hell kept by these terrifying and strange spinach-based aliens. Also something about bowling alleys. But spinachy brainy aliens was a big part of it.

One of my faves though.

None of these tracks ever struck me disturbing. I had a terrible experience listening to Diving Station, and Sherbert Head. Those are the only two that get to me.

I have right suspicion to believe that all of the distortion in Diving Station is some fucked up voice moaning and yelling...

And There is a single moment in Sherbert Head (0:19-0:23) where a man is speaking some kind of fucked up shit that I don't like.

So I can't vote on these songs.

I think it has to be Semena Mertvykh. It's not playfully dark, they're not teasing - they mean it. It feels like the last thing anyone will ever hear, and totally out-bleak's everything else

This is a hard question to answer. Disregarding the poll entirely, I'd say that the entirety of Geogaddi is creepy in and of itself. If you listen to one or two songs off of it, perhaps out of order, it kind of loses that psychological horror effect. However, listening to Geogaddi from start to finish gives every song a proper place among the many emotions throughout the album; it almost never fails to unnerve me at some point.

I actually find Everything You Do is a Balloon pretty unsettling and the kids with monkey faces didn't help either!!

Twoism. First time I heard the intro I was immediately claustrophobic, felt like the air went out of the room. I think everyone has a chord change (or perhaps a few) that "do it" for them, when you hear it, you get the waves of good feeling from head to toe (the end of "Happy Cycling" does this to me). Consequently, there are sequences of chords that work in the exact opposite way. For me, the intro of "Twoism" are those "anti-chords"; a singular vision of hell and all that it promises.

It felt quite uncanny to look through this thread and see my feelings about The Smallest Weird Number reproduced almost exactly by someone else five years ago. That track freaks me out so much it's almost hard to listen to.

Beware The Friendly Stranger, because it really catches the vibe of ''people with bad intentions'' it is funny tune but has very dark undertone.

I love that noise. Then it turns into that tear-y, kind of helicopter noise. I can feel that in my teeth.

Actually after thinking about it after a while, there's not really any "disturbing" BoC at all. There's "eerie" BoC, but no "disturbing" BoC (IMO). This thread goes to show me more people need to hear a Coil, or NIN, or SPK record...and even that shit's just barely disturbing.

But that's just me.

I can see how some BoC songs could disturb some individuals...but something tells me these individuals aren't very eclectic in what they listen to.
