If you've seen the new episodes you'll understand that a spoiler function isn't much use,

Even explaining in detail what happens in the first 4 eps that I've seen of the new series, it still would make very little sense.
I mean I am being a little over the top, there are references and connections between events, and the past Twin Peaks material (particularly Fire Walk with Me - watch it if you haven't!) but it feels straight from Lynch's head to the screen in many ways.
There are no executives meddling in this, it's surreal as all hell, and is in the vein of Inland Empire and the last third of Mulholland Drive.
If you found those things too incomprehensible, then the new Twin Peaks is not at all for you.

It's incredible from an aural, visual, and atmospheric though, I loved every second of the new episodes, and am anticipating more stuff from the genius mind of David Lynch.

The first 10 or so minutes of episode 3 was one of the greatest things I've ever seen on television.
It was like watching a dream, but not in the cliched sense of a wobbly-screen 'dream sequence' - it was like a playback one of my own dreams. Not necessarily the imagery, but the colours, the tone, the feel. It felt incredibly personal. I was deeply uneasy, on the edge of terror and riveted in a way I've never been since watching TV as a child.

Agreed. I have to say, thus far I'm knocked out. Was genuinely concerned Lynch couldn't follow it up, but he's done the impossible. Episode 3 was a trip.

I have read comments from fans of the first two seasons however, they seem to be disappointed that so far it hasn't captured that twin peaks "vibe" haha.
I think episode 4 put rest to that... the scene with Lucy, Andy and their son? Classic, weird comedy twin peaks soap opera.

I can identify with that to an extent - the location and town itself was very much a 'character' in the show for me, although we're only four episodes in and still very much in scene-setting mode I think.

I'm sorry but Lynch is operating at his peak (pardon the pun) here, there's a reason he said that Fire Walk With Me was an important to the new series.
It's not like the old series, pffft. I mean I wasn't really into the old series for the goofy comedy or the drama, I lived for the surrealism and weird stuff.

But I'll admit, I was a fan of David Lynch before I was a fan of Twin Peaks. A friend actually got me into the show because he was looking for a new show to watch, and I already expressed my love of Mulholland Dr. and Inland Empire,
He was just like "Yeah, watch this then, David Lynch is involved."
It wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but it's an enjoyable time.

When it comes to Lynch though, the weirder and more obtuse the better I say.

Oh absolutely, but for me Twin Peaks has three essential elements - the town and Pacific Northwest setting/landscape and character of Dale Cooper (which I believe was mainly Mark Frost's contribution), the Lynch weirdness and Angelo Badalamenti's music.
So I can understand that the feel of the series is a bit different (not bad, just different) with the reduced role of the first of the elements. We're seeing more and more though with each episode.
