Agreed - sounds pretty good. I'm not familiar with Win, the Fire Engines are a bit of a cult band - they're name-checked in LCD Soundsystem's Losing My Edge and released an "indie-er-than-thou" split 7" with Franz Ferdinand a while back that was OK. I vaguely rememember hearing some Nectarine #9 on John Peel years ago and liking what I heard.BunnyRabbit wrote:I like it.

I reckon BOC probably see this as a bit of an honour actually and fits with their general policy of working with independent artists and like-minded folks - especially as he's from Edinburgh.
It reminds me of Aztec Camera and Belle and Sebastian (a bit). It sounds like Scot's indie basically and you can be pretty sure Mike and Marcus have a fair bit of that in their collection.
Nice to hear BoC branching out a bit.

At first it did nothing for me, but I listened last night and sounded great - it's music I want to listen to outside on a hot summer's day while drinking cool lemonade.

my copy arrived today. i am loving here come the rubber cops, not liking outta place again. opa sounds like it was not even produced at all more like some drunk demo.

as far as I know the only track produced by BOC on the 12 inch is Here Come The Rubber Cops...
