Radiohead is my favorite traditional band, and the probably the only band I do like. Even though Radiohead are artists as well, this is how I differentiate the two, because they both have had a profound impact on my life. It should be said that I do appreciate Radiohead's more experimental stuff far more than their earlier, more traditional rock pieces.
No other musical artists comes anywhere close to these two for me.
I agree with you totally. Radiohead are also a favourite band of mine, and both have had that profound impact on me also, and I prefer the later stuff. Listening to Boards of Canada changed my life for the better. I'm positively YEARNING for a new album from them. I'm in real need! I know they don't owe us anything but that talent needs to be unleashed again.

That's really great to hear! It's always refreshing for me to know there are others like myself out there.
I'd have to say the evidence is looking better and better for a new BoC album in the near future. With first the enigmatic black square, followed by the high quality Julie and Candy ATP video. My excitement is at a fever pitch.

BoC has been my favorite band for about 5 years, and I'm pretty sure that's not going to change

Oh hell yeah, Zeppelin is tops in my book. It's hard to choose between them or Floyd as #1, so I'll say they share that spot for me. I never got into The Doors much.
BoC is Top 10 for me definitely.

This summer marks the 10th year anniversary for BoC being my favorite band. I heard Everything You Do Is A Balloon in 2001 on a satellite galaxy radio station and immediately fell in love. I had heard of them before that, but never gave it any attention. It was the start of something beautiful.

BoC's not my favorite band, but it is one of my favorites. Hmm, well, maybe they are my favorite BAND, but not my favorite artists/producers.
With me it started with Salad Fingers (anyone else?). A creepy but satisfying Flashanimation series by David Firth, which had 'Beware The Friendly Stranger' as main music theme.
I started with Oirectine and Twoism.. Listened to those A LOT whilst sitting in the bus to school.
Awesome tracks, still..
My favorite BoC song now is maybe In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country or The Children's Prison (ROYGBIV and Everything You Do Is A Balloon and Music Is Math also rank VERY HIGH in my own satisfaction chart).

Same here, that's what hooked me to BOC, I already had started to incorporate Dark Ambient (lustmord) into my iPod but then decided to take some BOC for a spin, so very glad I did.

I'll always the same special feeling I have inside me from BoC whenever I listen to old school NIN (hence my avatar), but currently, BoC is probably my absolute favorite thing to listen to.

Yeah, I think so too.
I'd love to see Trent Reznor's sad piano notes done in a BoC style. It's considerably unlikely to happen, but a BoC/NIN collab could totally work if done properly.
Picturing kind of like a dark Hi Scores sound.

No, Boards of Canada is not my favorite band, is my THIRD favorite band behind Pink Floyd and Radiohead.
