the things in arabic mean:
أشعة الشمس القرارات الجديدة
this means: sunshine, new decisions.
it's translated poorly to arabic, may also be: sun shines new decisions.
لجعل التسجيلات
this literally means, to make recordings.
maybe they meant making recordings. or making records
also poorly translated.
anyway all is good

What I might find even more interesting than the new record itself is the ideology behind.. Can't wait for the interviews.

so, rather than debating when the album will be released, how about thoughts on the direction and evolution of boards of canada? almost five years have passed since the release of TCH - i for one cant wait until an announcement with official release date is posted...but i'm somewhat clueless what the BOC of these present days will sound like. makes it all the more exciting i guess

A nuclear dawn, eh.
From Joyrex's hints about nuclear imagery being relevant and the New Clear Dawn stuff (I think it could be related to them, despite denials) I'm hoping for a very dark, apocalyptic-themed album.
That's not a prediction, just a hope!

i find this intriguing as well. there is an air of political and economic unrest around the world right now... this would fit the "bomb blast" imagery. the band are conscious of the "shenanigans" taking place out there, and i for one would like to hear the new album state their take on the path of things.
but a return to complexity in their music would be welcomed

you know, i still don't understand the reason behind that NCD website. it's just a page with some pictures on it. no links, no information, nothing. it was said that it has nothing to do with BOC, but whoever created it is in their camp. i don't understand the denials. this page exists for a reason, and i personally would like to know why.
but i digress. i just wish they'd release an album(s) so we can all shut up about it.

Who knows...that site could have something to do with BOC before but now they changed the topic of the album to something else and more fitting...ofcourse they change themes and stuff for the album over the years...
Remember how the 9/11 gave BOC inspiration to even finish Geogaddi.

I don't know how much that site has been discussed, but that owl pic from the "newcleardawn" site is a logo for a secret society called the Bohemian Club. They are known for a Manhattan Project planning meeting that led to the A-bomb.
I can see a connection...

It's much more fun (and unsettling) when it's a mystery!

my final impression of it was that someone made it as a prank.

I hope it's not in the theme that you guys are discussing now. That makes it sound so contained and comprehensible. Plus, kind of irrelevant. Not totally irrelevant, I mean nuclear weaponry and energy are both concerns today, but they're not really...I mean, if you're looking for a zeitgeist of any kind for today, you're way off. Then again, maybe that's not what they're going for either.
Also, that New Clear Dawn site could be in connection with one of their (purportedly) myriad other artistic projects, not necessarily BoC!

you make a good point.
i realize this has been discussed previously, but the mystery behind this site intrigues me so much.... i suppose we'll never really know the REAL meaning of this whole New Clear Dawn fiasco/prank. should probably just
let. it. go.

Yeah, I agree. It was Lord Louis Mountbatten who said, "If the Third World War is fought with nuclear weapons, the fourth will be fought with bows and arrows." That being said, as crazy as the leaders of this world are, I think it will be the last thing on their plates to eat. We should be worrying about bigger things like an NWO which is being talked about more and more these days.
So, yeah I don't think the new album will be an "End Of The World" theme. If it is? Ok, I am sure it will be brilliant although really depressing.

I would love a nuclear theme, as said by many more. Think about abandoned missile silo's, bunkers where the electronics mysteriously works, Tsjernobyl-like landscapes and secret underground bases. I'm loving it and I can see BoC doing something with that, putting all that fear, abandonment and conspriracies into a nucleare themed album. Ofcourse it's got to be a 2 disc set with booklet and tons of photo's.
