I'm just happy that theres a new album and that i've had the opportunity to buy a BOC record without having to shell out a small fortune, i'm suprised that Warp didn't offer a 'deluxe' edition or the much anticipated 'BOCset' but they may come in the future.
I'm pretty sure most people are glad that theres a huge pressing of this record, i see endless threads and discussions begging for represses of previous releases so hopefully everyone will grab a copy and no one will have to pay out a fortune on discogs or eBay later on.
Not really concerned with the 'value' of my BoC collection i'm just happy i've managed to track most of them down and will never sell them, never ecstatic about handing over huge amounts of my hard earned money to buy a record... but yet i keep doing it haha

anybody pondered the possibility of us recognising some of the material on "Tomorrow's Harvest".

ie. might they have re-used some of the unreleased tracks we know from the Live@Warp10 or the ATP recording? I wouldn't expect it, but then again they are known for reworking and developing old material. I think the final track on Live@Warp10 is stunning. (I call it "The Wires are Broken"). Would love to get that on an official release.

And btw I absolutely love the cover art and think it's very BOC. It's much better than Campfire and Trans Canada covers. I think it's iconic and will probably stand for BOC in the future. It's my second favorite after MHTRTC.

have BoC done all their previous album artwork themselves? just want to get a better understanding of why this artwork feels so different, like they had no hand in the creative process other than telling Neil Krug/WARP what they're aiming for and having them do all the artwork for them (excluding of course the 'transmission' teaser which feels like BoC themselves)....

Agree with both statements.

I find it refreshing that WARP haven't seen fit to cash in. I was fully expecting the £100+ 'Collector's Edition' with extra tracks, bonus artwork, trip for lunch at Hexagon Sun, etc etc. That they've seen fit to keep prices reasonable is fantastic in my book. Wondering if BOC had a say in that??

I too have spent a small fortune on my vinyl BOC collection but I genuinely hope that they reissue the old stuff again so more people can own Geogaddi, etc. in what is (to my mind) the best format available.

Tomorrow's Harvest won't increase in value for some time, at a guess. But then, vinyl should be played and not seen as a commodity in my humble opinion.

i don't think there's been any mention yet of who made the album cover. krug hasn't promoted that image on his tumblr, even though it's been released elsewhere. seems to me like he's only responsible for the desert video and that's it. though someone can correct me if i'm wrong.

i don't think there's been any mention yet of who made the album cover..

yeah, no mention on my side either. looks like we might not know for sure who did the artwork until the actual album is in our hands, but I'm leaning towards the idea that Krug and/or David Myrick are responsible under WARP's wing, of course... the style of the cover matches that of his promotional works so far, and even includes the same subject matter, e.g. the desert scene and the California locations (San Fran), etc

Yip, I'm with you both - the only BoC I had to fork out for was 'Aquarius', all the others I got when they were released, but the vinyl should be still in print - at least Warp should do it the way Skam have with Hi Scores and repress it every 5 years or so - collectors know if they have an original first pressing, but people can still get the vinyl at reasonable prices if they desire. And I too am very glad they didn't release the new album as a limited box set with posters/prints and with a 7" including extra tracks that you can also get in digital format if you download from iTunes. Great to see just straight up LP & CD.

What I am slightly peeved about though is the Record Store Day release - now there is something that only the super rich(see the current insane eBay auction for the NYC record) or people lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time can get. I'd love if Warp released it ala the Geogaddi promo 12", so everyone could get their hands on one, or at least get a realistic opportunity to get one. I can see why they did it, and it was a great way to start off the hunt for the number clues, but they've just created the rarest electronic record ever released, with most of their fans unable to ever get one.

^To be fair, it's not exactly a BoC record (isn't that ambiance from another track they've made?) and even if you consider it one, the whole point was 'just one would be released'.
