I'm 95% sure the font is Avante Garde Bold (or Black). One of the hero san serif fonts designed in the seventies. I could be wrong but I think it's the same font as the BOC warp tees from a little while ago, except instances of the letter A are modified to lean backwards on those.

thats a very good point about hearing something we recognize. but personally i think this album will be a very different direction for BOC, so i dont imagine us recognizing anything from the past on the new release. but who knows.

Oh my, imagine if a full quality version of 'Echus' from ATP was on the album. I'd piss my pants.

I believe the 1977 movie wizards has a lot of bocesque elements to it including beards, synthesizers, amateur footage , snow and the year in which it was made. In wizards the earth has been devastated by a nuclear war which is also very boc like.

"Wizards is a 1977 American animated post-apocalyptic science fantasy film about the battle between two wizards, one representing the forces of magic and one representing the forces of industrial technology".

It's Avant Garde Bold, by Herb Lubalin, not imo a favourite, good nonetheless as typograoher but there was better designers. ABPOITC is also Avante Garde, light weight i think. notice the film/window frame style here too for the imagery. some things just work, a tried tested fomula but
trickery comes to play as not to appear repetitive? clever curves on the frames, these are minute details but aestethic is paramount. they are trying to convey a feeling, experience from a certain time.

Very possibly relevant- in interviews they always say they reference things they're into at the time- and this seems right up the alley. Good find.

The fact that they apparently have like, 60-some unreleased tracks from the Geogaddi sessions that never made it shows they're pretty particular to say the least. I doubt they would just throw something old onto a new album ... seems a little out of character. Not a bad thought, just saying.

Whoah... 60ish?! Oh man. Thats kind of crushing me to think about that.

I was thinking it might be almost realistic to ask them to release soundboards of the unreleased stuff from the live shows now that the Julie and Candy board has surfaced...'Soundboards of Canada'...

Being perfectionists, I reckon its a LOT of work for them to release something...even an EP. How amazing would it be though if they dropped some treasure trove of unreleased stuff... sigh...

Don't forget... "track" could be snippets of 20 seconds... the layering and complexity of Geogaddi only means that they left a lot on the cutting room floor to use the cinematographic equivalent.
