Further analysis.

Post by LeoHmr »

So, while being a fan of Boards of Canada since 1999, I have lurked these forums from time to time, analysing and looking up every piece of interview I could stumble upon regarding BoC. (And the part where one of them has a asian girlfriend comes from the magazine "The Wire"-interview, she's from Hong kong.

Speaking about the mystical black box, having not read each and every post, my feeling is that the black box represents the same title they use for the apparatus that collects information from airplanes that can be used as evidence on why a airplane has crashed. You might remember a couple years ago, the plane heading from Brazil plunging into the atlantic ocean, how they spent days trying to find the black box. So, the black box might be a reference to that thingy in airplanes (and, let's face it, im not the one thinking about Bocuma as soon as I see a plane on a sunny blue sky, right?)
The thing is (as some of you might already know), the black box isnt black. It's orange!
So there comes another mysterious clue and reference to BoC (Aquarius..."orange")
Proof: Image

(continue on next post as it seems the whole post can't be sent as a whole.)

While im at it, for you impatience people out there waiting for BoC to release their new album. I have two submissions that might be of pleasure for you.

The first one being an album I made 2006 as a semi-tribute to BoC:

And last but not least, as Im as eager to listen to the new album as you are, I had to upload a mix with Boards of Canada on Soudcloud, enjoy:

http://soundcloud.com/leonardhummer/leo ... -boards-of

Cheers, be patient, I guess noone of us doesnt have a clue how much effort it takes to put together a Boards of Canada album, especially with all the high hopes and expectations.

(Phew, sorry for spamming three messages, but when I tried to post the whole message as one post, it didnt show up in the preview.)

the black box we are referring to, is the black box on BOC discography page, representing an upcoming new album.

i check the website, every time before i come to this board. because id rather see for my own the album title and all that stuff. rather than come here and have it spoiled.

Yeah, I know. Just speculating wether it's some irony involved in them putting a black box that we need to crack open to find out what's inside. :D

i really don't think there's any symbolism behind it

i think it's just a spaceholder as an announcement saying "hey there's gonna be a new album, but not gonna let'cha see it yet"

nothing more, probably nothing less
