Sure looks nice! never heard one though. I have a sigma DR 28h martin copy.. big dark tone. Sometimes I'd like a taylor to have the sparkling tone or a good nylon string.aged sea wrote:New guitar, Seagull S6. These guitars have such terrific tone.

Thanks. Martins are sweet (I used to have an antique Martin parlor guitar, but sold it last year). I like the Taylor sound but the price tag is out of my range.
I wanted to get an all around good "campfire" dreadnaught guitar and this one is perfect. All solid wood, cedar top, made in Canada (BOC approved?). So it worked out well.

thumbs up on the seagull. They're definitely nice guitars for their price, like Cort, Takamine, and Alvarez, but without the potential first world guilt of them being made in eastern asia.

Mine is actually a martin copy made by sigma. I had a really hard time finding out some information about it... but I've consistently noticed I loved the sound of it relative to other guitars in its price range. I bought it in the fall of 1986 for $375 on sale from $500. Mine is the version made in japan. Apparently they made them far sturdier so they wouldn't be returned on warranty. Not quite as sweet at the top as the martin but better sustain and low end. It's huge sounding. And 25 years later it sounds better.aged sea wrote:Thanks. Anyway enjoy the guitar its a good one from all the reviews I've read. Yeah Taylors are some bones.

Staedtler 4B pencils, because they are my artistic weapon of choice and for some reason I don't get on that well with any other brand?

I picked it up because a friend and I couldn't stop staring at the old Photographs in it every time we went to Barnes and Nobel together. It's a young adult read in first person, so I didn't expect much. Have 17 more pages to go but have to stop because I'm going to work in a bit. It's okay, nothing special. Would've been a better book as just a collection of creepy photographs.

A really innovative work of fiction with shuffled pages and no page numbers, the book can be read in any order. I'm approaching it more like a puzzle I believe that he intended for the readers to make their own story out of it. It's a challenging work regardless.
