TBH TH didn’t do it for me. So I’ve been waiting nearly 20 years to feel like this. What a gem!

Separate purchase, but there is a bundle which offers a massive discount on the Continuous Mix.

Also, I'm not sure if you are aware, but it turns out the mix isn't different from the standard album at all. There aren't any transitions between the tracks or any cool bonuses.

I was also at Sonic Boom and was texting my friend “The entire album has visuals!”

Afterwards I was wondering why nobody else was talking about it haha It must have been created by the shop, which is super cool that they spent the time to do that. I thought they were official!

Lots of sourced 8mm and video footage. There were clips of nuns and crosses plus lots of evolving orange and turquoise hexagons. ‘You Retreat in Time and Space’ had family 8mm footage. They used the official videos of Prophecy and Tape 05 during those tracks too. Really cool experience

Bleep is saying my 4/23 pre-order (normal vinyl) will be now dispatched on July 3 (??) anyone else experiencing this? Why did I pre-order? This is retarded.

Alright, I’m gonna stand up and say it. This is there best album. This is the one I’ve been waiting for since I first heard them in 1998. It’s the album I always wanted them to make but, thought they never would.

I’ve always wanted them to lean hard in to the trippy hypnotic stuff. There’s glimpses of it throughout their discography, the dark lit futuristic sound of June 9th, when telephasic workshop is at its crescendo, the off kilter sound of gyroscope, the last part of split your infinities. My friend and I used to have discussions about this, ‘why don’t they make an album where just totally go for it and lean in to that sound?’

Well, for me, they’ve finally done it. It’s sad in a way, I can’t help but feel that the reason they released this album now is because it’s a parting gift. Finally giving long time hardcore fans what they always wanted as they say goodbye.

There are so many parts of this album that just transport me to boc land and feeds me boc shaped things!

This album makes me think of being at a festival, it’s 4am, the main stages all finished hours ago, you wander around half coming down, half still tripping and find a stall selling chai tea run by a couple of hippies. They have a sound system blasting music, this is the album that’s playing.

The bodyload took a little bit too long, so I blamed the dealer.
Yet the substance eventually provided a full, fresh BoC so demanded experience, that I'm glad and feeling ashamed, that I doubted and was acting like an asshole towards enthusiastic fans.

Love your take and largely agree with it, I know it's shiny and new but I think this is the album I always hoped they'd make too.

I'm trying to also watch my novelty bias, but I'm in this camp currently after getting a few dozen listens in during some quiet days in the studio. It's resonating with me much more then I anticipated, certainly more than TH did.

The one things that's interesting is that as "new" as this sound feels for them - and lots of it is, the detail, clarity, and production has taken an amazing leap here - thematically there's parts of this that remind me of some of their earliest materials. There are moments in Father and Son that I could imagine it being on Old Tunes, the drum break downs in XYZ and Chinook present in some of the layering in the first half of the album, the attitude taken with the Hell Interface mixes, I feel more of that OT1&2 in this then some mix of Geogaddi and CFHP.

Regardless, I still can't get over the fact they exceeded the impossible expectations all of us had (intentional or not) to surprise us once again.

I'm hearing stuff on this album that reminds me of everything they've done, from Old Tunes to Geogaddi to TH. It feels like a summation of their career yet also a totally new world to explore.

I love TH, but it's a bit bleak and singleminded -- in contrast, I like how much more varied and playful this is. I really think it may be their best work, their magnum opus.

I like how much more varied and playful this is. I really think it may be their best work, their magnum opus.

I feel this, as well as described earlier, that this is the album I always wanted them to make. It surprised me in exciting ways throughout. I can't wait to listen to it for a second time.

100% agree. You retreat through time and space is pure distilled mhtrtc, somewhere right now in the future sounds like it’s straight off one of the old cassettes, the word becomes flesh sounds like something that could be on geogaddi, in to the magic land is straight out of the campfire headphase, acts of magic is TH era, but all of them with that extra ‘inferno’ sound.

Indeed - there's so many callbacks or things that bring to mind their earlier work. The most prominent I noticed were Hydrogen Helium.. and The Beach at Redpoint, the opening synth part is very very similar. And then You Retreat seems to specifically reference one of the synth melodies from ROYGBIV as well as the beat of Aquarius. Absolutely gorgeous song there, probably my favorite from Inferno.

Maybe Inferno is the distillation of their unreleased catalogue reworked into a double album.

I feel the same way. TH had a few good tracks but not great on the whole. Inferno is a gem like you say.
