Let's hope this'll result in a new release!
Was listening to Pink Lilies the other night when driving home from a Sigur Ros concert and was wondering if he ever was to release something new again. He is too good to just quit making (read releasing) music again.

over the years arovane has become one of my favourite artists, his music has such a wonderful warm sound to.
I honestly thought we'd never hear from him again though, I was starting to think the same about boc too. 2013 has been such an awesome year, musically.

My wish came true!
Seems like he got back to his roots

Some early Arovane sounds and I even hear some EP7 era influence on this record.
Check them sounds:

I have such a love/lukewarm relationship with the new album after my first listens. I did get past the lack of gorgeous melodies and atmospheres that led me to fall deeply in love with 'Tides' and 'Lillies'. There are certainly moments that I find engrossing and compelling.
Unfortunately there is something gratuitous about the album, where I look ahead at the tracks to come and think "another 40 minutes of just this?" I don't see any narrative structure to the album as a whole, and to some degree the individual tracks themselves. It's like being told to read the dictionary, something that is chock full of interesting ideas and symbols for ideas but would be a non-cohesive and scattered experience to sit and read for eighty minutes.
What do you all think? The bonus tracks are slightly better in regards to what I'm feeling, and feature harmonic motion that is not so buried away in the mix, but I'm really hoping that this opens up to me more in future listens.
