1969 in the sunshine...

So I'm sat here today, gorgeous weather (first we've had in the UK for what feels like eons), sun is shining, I'm feelin good. I stick on 1969. Perfect.
Made me wonder, are there certain BoC songs you guys associate with certain types of weather? Do you stick on the perfect BoC track when driving in the fog, walking in the rain, basking in the sun..?

Campfire is, IMO, a whole movie filled with weather conditions of a band of forest hikers and campers surviving some sort of apocalypse.
Peacock tail, for me, will always be this group bathing in this huge creek found in the forest where spots of sun try to reach the ground; Dayvan would be a scene from Apocalypse Now but in the US, the sun at full power; and Hey Saturday, kind of like a smooth dawn (new and clear?).
While the rainy-foggy tunes would be the end of 84 Pontiac, Constant are changing, Slow this bird, and Ataronchronon. The feeling you'd get after the bombing of the country, with fumes everywhere, even though it's supposed to be sunny...
Am I the only one who feels Campfire like a movie?

1969 reminds me of Knights of the Old Republic. When my wife and I first moved out on our own, she bought me a copy of Knights and I used to play BoC in the background (always seemed to fit for me...).
Anyway, one particular day I was playing, 1969 came on and it just sticks out in my mind. It was a dreary/rainy summer day, but it was a "good day". That was the toughest point in our lives up until now, and it was just a good memory. Always, always, always brings me back to that day and feeling.

when i listen to boards of canada, i tend to get certain emotions to different tracks. this is going to be very hard to put into words but hopefully some of you read this and can relate.
if i listen to certain tracks, i tend to awaken this feeling inside. its like as soon as the song begins i begin to feel overwhelmed with an indescribable feeling. for example. on trans canada highway, the two tracks, heard from the telegraph lines, and under the coke sign, seem to take me back to my old house that i shared with my old girlfriend a few years back. every time i hear those songs i am taken back to certain moments in time from back then, and i begin to feel and see a bunch of places from when i was living there, and it is almost like the whole thing is still with me.
it can be tough sometimes, to use music as a tool in such a way that you relive certain moments and feel old emotions. but for me i find comfort in this process, and even though it can hurt at times, the music can open you up to past feelings that you can now hold forever.
its amazing how hard i am hit with memories when listening to BOC.
sorry i didnt really relate any of this to weather, but i must admit, some tracks seem very gloomy and dark, while others i can feel the sunshine coming out of the music.

^ I can tell you firsthand that you are not the only one who feels that way about their music. Oftentimes when I listen to IABPOITC or MHTRTC it takes me back to being 5-7 years old, naive but blissful and in the car with the parents driving in the country. The Campfire Headphase will always remind me of driving through the rolling tree-covered mountains in Vermont and it's just breathtakingly beautiful.

TCH came out as I was tracking an EP w/ a band called Casino, no, not that one, in Austin Tx w/Frenchy Smith at the infamous Bubble studios. I still can see the bOctober hues outta my old car as I got baked btw takes, good times!

Dreamcoat reminds me of dawn on a summers morning cos me and my friend once drove home from a party with that song on along country lanes, was awesome.

Not exactly related but Gyroscope always gives me creepy vibes because it was used in the movie "Sinister" at a rather dark part .

Satellite Anthem Icarus = Clear, sunny spring day in full bloom
1969 = psychedelic summer afternoon either at the seaside or on some plains
Whitewater = clear, sunny winter day full of snow in a park or in the forest near the frozen creek
Other tracks invoke non-weather feelings.
And I agree with Kunfuzi. While I was watching "Sinister" and when Gyroscope started playing in the movie it simultaniously gave me the creeps and joy. Strange feeling.

Turquoise Hexagon Sun is sunrise over Bodega Bay, always.
Orange Hexagon Sun, by contrast, is sunset over Salt Lake City viewed from a parking garage.
All of TCH is early morning in some lake in Northern MN.

Oh yes, weather is relevant. It's amazing that I'm not the only one who considers CH a sunny album. I love "Hey Saturday..." on sunny mornings. It reminds me of sunny Saturdays spent outdoors with my family when I was 5-7. "Satellite..." goes perfectly with a bike ride around a lake surrounded by coniferous trees. "In a beautiful place ..." is delicious on a lime rock hill where I sometimes relax on hot summer afternoons.
There are also a number of "sunny-city" tracks. I love cycling in the city with "Pete...", "Aquarius" or "Whitewater". It offers me a sort of detachment from reality. I feel as if I am playing a part in a video clip.
When it comes to cloudy and rainy days, I love e.g. "Kid for Today", "Amo Bishop...", "Mansel". I can't imagine listening to those tunes on a sunny day.
There are also night tracks, dawn tracks, sunset tracks...

Left Side Drive INSTANTLY transports me to an ice cavern. All i can see is the crystal blue walls reflecting the little sunlight that comes in through the entrance, illuminating the entire cave.
