Shit man, I wish they would'nt have given us such short notice. It's next week! If I knew about this maybe a month in advance I would definately make plans to go. Although from Pittsburgh, NYC is a good 8 hour drive and I could'nt get off work anyway, so.....oh well.

That's just the question, isn't it? Is this just a general listening party in honor of the new album, or is the new album acutally going to be played? If so, I would love to go, but I doubt my car would last the trip, nor would the rather small amount of $ in my wallet.

I don't think that new album will be played without them and official release. It would be cool to go there but as i said it's way to far.

There were listening sessions like this before Geogaddi was released. They just play the new album, basically.
I thiink it's quite likely that they'll announce some more so don't panic if you don't live near NY.

Are you suggesting what I think you're suggesting? If so, I think I like the idea of listening to the new album with my fellow BoC fanatics. If you ask me, it would rule if the lads from the Pentlands were to hold a special VIP listening party for their loyal subjects on a certain kickass message board. Just a thought.

Shame no-one's going to the listening party. I think it'd be quite a struggle for met to get to New York tonight from the UK!

Well, rumor has it that the party is basically for the media or you have to know someone from Warp to be invited. The point (I guess) is to get the word out about the new album and create some hype. It seems un-Boc like to do this this for VIP and not for the fans, cause from what I've read their not to fond about the media.

Although I'm sure there will be sort of review somewhere. I told myself I would'nt read any reviews about it until I heard it, but goddamn it's gonna be hard not to.

You are totally right. Warp arranged this because thats what they always do with releases that receive a lot of attention.

BoC will not be there because like you said, they don't like the media that much.
And if I'm right they don't really want to see/meet their groupies as well
(I might be wrong though, but I am under the impression that they don't like them, after reading some interviews)

did anyone go? I live in NYC and just got back in town to find out that this was happening... I email some lady at warp and tries to charm my way in to no avail.
