yup, you are right.

In other news, from the 2020k page:

The codes as Grid Coordinates: NT936557, NT717228, NT519225, NT699742. http://gridreferencefinder.com/#

all of the codes are around Edinburgh...

yeah forum user BunnyRabbit has posted that too, it seems like too much to be a coincidence.

The four codes we have now seem to form part of a hexagon.

i didn't understand it but now i think i do, its rather bizarre.
2 more points surely will have to draw a hexagon.
this is it, its cracked, it has to be. these are geo co-ordinates.

For those not familiar with the area, that's not very far at all from the Pentland Hills. And we all know what is / was allegedly somewhere in the Pentland Hills...

Errr, are they not just round edinburgh because they've put NT at the start

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... l_Grid.svg

would they not just be a hexagon anywhere and the location determined by whatever two letter code you put at the start?

right.

This is interesting, but what then is the significance of the order of the codes?

still, the fact is, they are making a hexagon - I feel that the code has still been cracked in that regard. Is the NT correct? Maybe so, maybe not...but the fact that a hexagon is beginning to form means we're on the right track.

I think it is one of the better patterns people have pointed out though, plus I guess I'm hoping for a secret party as that would be pretty awesome

The centre of that would-be-hexagon is about 90 mins drive from my Dad's house. Must have been in and around that area a dozen times.

Would someone please explain how this works? i.e. how the 6 numbers represent a geographic point, and also what the significance of NT is?

Thanks

I tried to enter CS CH as grid codes.
Ended up in the sea.

Not very useful then :P

It's an ordnance survey grid reference, it’s the way maps in the UK are done

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ordnance_ ... ional_Grid

You have a large grid covering the UK, there’s an XY then each digit refers to a smaller grid inside the previous

In the UK, we use Ordnance Survey maps which work on a grid reference system. You could use the codes found so far to get the points shown on the map, but as someone just pointed out, the addition of the NT code is using a little 'artistic licence' to say the least. The NT ref is the one for the area just south of Edinburgh (ie. the East Scottish Borders). You could just as easily apply the same shape to pretty much anywhere in the UK.

Here's a good explanation for how the digits work

Thanks. Well, if it turns out to be a Hexagon, I'll sure regret not having the leisure cash to fly out to wherever it is.

But it seems unlikely to me that it would be any sort of party or anything (whereas the Redmoon thing does seem like it could have been). Why would Hex Sun wanna have an awkward party with a bunch of really hardcore fans? What would there be to talk about? Seems like it'd be pretty lame from their perspective.

Also, if it was supposed to be a Hexagon on a map, couldn't they have made it perfectly equilateral? What would be a reason to not make it non-equilateral?

The point is "wherever it is" isn't anywhere - it's just a shape. If you put it in the grid marked NT, it's over Edinburgh. If you put it in SW it's in Cornwall.

I don't think this is what it means anyway.
