When did the current promo become 'real' for you??

I'm curious. I think the majority of us have long since accepted this is a bonafide WARP / BOC promo thing, rather than another hoax.
But many, myself included, had an initial 'is it?/isn't it?' feeling that took some time to work through.
So I'm interested to know - when did YOU first believe this was all for real??

Wasn't 100% sold on the first record, until Warp confirmed it, but when they did (according to Pitchfork) that was enough for me.

At first I read a while back about the codes (I think around 5 days ago) and didn't believe it
But once i heard it on radio one I was like "FINALLY! NEW BoC ALBUM!!!!!!!"

BBC. A week ago when this thing started there was only the RSD record, then I had strong feelings it was legit but not entirely. Then I didn't follow it for a couple of days and then heard BBC was also sending numbers. Because it was the BBC I was convinced

When it was just the pictures of the RSD album I was definitely interested but not completely convinced. When Lilcakey posted the audio I was a believer, especially since someone found that BOC had a RSD page. When people started questioning whether the RSD page was maybe for some past promotion it gave me some doubt. But then there was absolutely no doubt once the AtalantaFugiens video description was changed and that first annotation went up.

I knew it was real the first time I saw the youtube post of the first vinyl found and heard the new jingle that precedes the number sequence. Those trademark dreamy boc analog arpeggios are surprisingly difficult to fake or even accurately imitate.
It was 110% confirmed when they posted the video version under the Hell Interface link.
There's still a surreal feeling to all this though. I keep wondering if I'm just dreaming. A new album or even a release of older material is almost too good to be true.

I've been absolutely 100% hooked from the moment I heard the RSD vinyl- which is not to say that there haven't been absolute schizoid moments where I doubt the whole thing- which is based on the fact that I've only been listening to them since 2010 and have never actually experienced a BoC release before. Despite the "short" time it's been since I first spun my college radio station's copy of A Beautiful Place in the studio after one of my Sunday shows out of pure curiosity, I have held the brothers, their music (and the fantastic other-worldly places it takes me) and now YOU ALL, the fans, in the highest regard. I've heard stories from my ex-Deadhead father about the joys of a loving and engaged fan scene, and the reaction shown here to the smallest clues and hints have demonstatred that the spirit of music and the joy of interacting with artists doing EXACTLY what they should be doing is indeed alive and well. I guess I've officially outed myself as a BoC-head now- any others of you hiding out in Berlin and want to get together to love this new thing to shit whenever it comes out?

When I heard the motif I immediately knew it was BoC, but a bit of me held back - it could have been doctored from other tunes into a well-formed hoax. Rough Trade on Twitter confirming the second vinyl confirmed it for me...then it was easier to believe that Warp were really up to something.

My memory's hazy but at some point on day one I posted "shit just got real" and something about doubters. That time stamps it.
When I heard it I just thought - yes. It sounded right and felt right and the stuff on WATMM about June seemed plausible to me, so I was ready. Oh, and the night before I wore my BOC t-shirt out to a low-key gig at a pub and the landlord saw it and put Sherbet Head on. He was a scot. This was a good omen which i now retrospectively choose to believe.

I didn't really see any reason to doubt the veracity of the 12", seemed a very Warp-y thing to do. It's the radio plays that actually threw me to start. NPR, fair enough, although I'd have almost seen Archive.org as a bit more Boccy but the Radio 1 play... Zane fucking Lowe for Pete's sake! It would have felt more legit from say, Tom Ravenscroft or maybe even Giles Peterson, but I guess in retrospect they wanted to make sure that as many people as possible heard it to then spread the word.

The vinyl is easly done... cutting vinyl dubplates is about £40 each.
Youtube... well, we've all seen the results of that.
Getting someone like Zane Lowe to drop something completely obscure into a prime time show? - Not that straightforward.

i came onto twoism and saw someone post the above symbol. i didnt know or see anything else, i didnt know about the vinyl the kid found or anything, i just saw that symbol. and i knew something was happening with the new record.

No, I agree. After the fact it makes sense that would be the official stamp, so to speak, particularly, as you say, it was on Radio 1. It's probably because I have such an active dislike of Zane and every atom he is composed of that I just refused to believe it.
