I don't want to pollute the main TH thread, so I'll post this here.

I just had a thought to explore in fun a few quick thoughts some insights based on a nuclear theme, here are a few ideas tossed onto paper, feel free to brainstorm, that's the idea behind it, I don't claim any insight, this is just what I "feel" without really cross analyzing the myriad of clues.

The Cosecha Number Stations of course remaining one of the transmitting units, unmanned and solitary, the whole post apocalyptic ideas are of course clear given the recent speculative discussions.

Anyways, here are some thoughts based on titles:

Gemini (I made reference earlier to Cain and Abel, USA/USSR, brother vs brother in war)

Reach for the dead (to me this is a reference to the "dead hand" a device to retaliate to a strike even if your govt is wiped out)

White Cyclosa (apparently related to spiders, but an ICBM attack would look like spiders' legs stretching across the skies.)

Jacquard Causeway (Possible reference to Albert Jacquard, proponent of degrowth. Could be also Jacquard loom, which used perforated cards, somehow a primal computing machine. Or how everything on Earth is weaved together.)

Telepath (No sure...)

Cold Earth (I'd imagine this is related to Nuclear Winter.)

Transmisiones Ferox (My first thought was irradiation/fallout/disease spread possibly bio-weaponry. Possibly Number Stations.)

Sick Times (self explanatory/Radiation sickness)

Collapse (civilization)

Palace Posy (a lament, a poetic last word on all that is lost, headstone/tombstone writing)

Split Your Infinities (All the possible human futures that once were are now split into the merest remainining tendrils, fragile)

Uritual (Urban Rituals, scavenging, surviving, hopefully nothing from C. McCarthy The Road)

Nothing Is Real (I see this as the bleakest part of the whole arc, the last few remaining beings abandon hope, surrender to the oblivion.)

Sundown (finality and surrender, the sun sets, ready for a new dawn. Nuclear Dawn, a new day.)

New Seeds (follows Sundown, the bright new day, also perhaps reference to the Doomsday vault, I thought so earlier on.)

Come To Dust (Not in a negative way, more like a dandelion seed falls a patch of fertile dirt to grow)

Semena Mertvykh (seeds of the dead in Russian, the re-blooming earth after the devastation, humanity has passed but the seeds preserved (see above) can hopefully bring a rebirth after the Nuclear Winter)

I would have said White Cyclosa could be a reference to spiders surviving nuclear warfare. But I like your answer better.

Okay it's totally fine to speculate and everything and I don't mean to tell you what to do but.... the album isn't out for two months and we're already analyzing themes/motives in it...?

But I think I'm going to abstain from reading your analysis and the rest of this thread. I don't want a single expectation of what this album is going to be like.. I want my first lesson to be as organic and pure as possible.

Hopefully I don't concentrate too hard..

What if "Come to Dust" was talking about the human life cycle, from conception to death? Nope? Ok.

theres a limited cd/dvd version on the way with some of the actual sand from Yermo encased
in a special military style ammo box that looks worn. ltd 1000.

It's all speculation so far, we've not seen any of the album aside from the front cover, track listing and only heard a tiny bit of music that might not even be on the album, but this is good fun.

I think they're sending out quite a clear message as to what this album is about.

The front cover with the sun setting on civilization nails it for me. Or could it be the sun rising? Dawn of a new era?

This whole New Clear Dawn Frontline Net Observation Research and Observation thing has me thinking too. Is anything else going to happen with that?
Could there be another album or EP on the way relatively soon after Tomorrow's Harvest? If this album turns out to be about the end of civilization, will next release be about a rebirth, building a new civilization, a new and clear dawn? Could the themes/concept of two releases tell a story?

Yes I know, wishful thinking. I'm talking about the next new release and the album isn't even out yet, and I'll be happy with just one album for the next few years, but I like thinking that there will be more to come soon.

That is quite fair, no offense taken at all, I am thinking too that if I even hear of a leak of the album I am going to run for the hills and wait until I get my order in the mailbox or if I am weak to listen to the mp3 on launch day. I don't want to speculate beyond all that has transpired from the internet and twoism/irc speculation.

I just wonder how off the mark I am really, in reality I'm probably quite a bit off

i've always taken the NCD Systems' "frontline net observation and research" literally in my imagination--pretending this whole band is just a front for some small experimental CIA operation where they starve diehard fans of what they want, then flood them with stimuli, and track the reaction, and how it all pertains to the dissemination of information on the internet. we would make a good case study tbh.

So, are we all going along with the prospect that this is going to be a fully-fledged concept album, in the truest sense of the word? If so, it's definitely a departure for the duo as none of their previous work has followed any sort of narrative, but it is intriguing.

I think it's worth looking at what we have so far. I'm sure BoC intended the track names to be relevant literature to the themes of the album.
Maybe a bit vague, but Semena Mertvykh being written in Russian seems interesting to me, I can't remember another overtly Russian reference in BoC's music, and in general this one seems to be more focused on Europe than previous work, which were often quite americanised (the color of the fire, dayvan cowboy, the whole waco theme, most vocal samples are of american voices).

Actually, Michael once stated that there was a "sort of narrative" thread of Geogaddi, and that they always have a "visual element" on their music. Both quotes were taken from Wikipedia, by the way. Considering that, I think this concept, or narrative, to this new album, even if it's all speculative so far, is pretty plausible. Speculating on the meaning, and staying away from any speculation to approach the album with a fresh mind, are both totally valid and interesting approaches.

This was a very interesting and believable interpretation of the song titles in relation to a theme. If you ended up being correct I would not be surprised.

That is one of the most disturbing things I have seen in a long time.

I'm looking forward to the 16-page booklet -- especially given what visuals we've seen related to the new album.
