It seems like every band with a good size fanbase has that one song that just sticks out in their discography as their most well known song. It also often times has a much different sound than the band's usual sound. And the hard core fans tend to not really like that song.

Radiohead has "Creep" and I've known die hard Radiohead fans who hate that song. The Cure has "Just Like Heaven." And for Boards Of Canada, that track is probably "Dayvan Cowboy."

Do you like the track? If so, do you think you would like it if you just heard it on the radio or something and it wasn't by BoC? As often times people are more likely to give music a chance if it's by a band they love. I don't think people would have given a chance to a song like "When I'm Sixty-Four" if it were by an unknown artist rather than the Beatles.

I personally like the track. I have to be in the right mood to listen to it. It's a great outdoors track. However if I just heard it off the radio and didn't know it were BoC, I probably wouldn't have gone out of my way to listen to it again.

It's definitely in my top 5 BoC-songs! I think it's brilliant the way the undistorted guitar comes in.

I love it, it's by far the best track on the Campfire Headphase, I think that's why it was chosen as a single tbh. Every time I hear the swirling winds drop out and that tremolo'd guitar, just get chills, and then the drums come in like crashing waves; again, best track on Campfire Headphase, which is a bit lacking in the beats department. I'm sure this sound is what they wanted more of on TCH, but just couldn't keep it up.

I've always been a bit ambivalent about it. Sometimes I'm totally in the mood for it, but often I prefer to skip to the later tracks. On the flipside, if I didn't know of BoC and I just heard it randomly on the radio I'd likely investigate further. Pretty sure that's what loads of people did around 2005 / 2006.

I'm grinning from ear to ear every time I hear it. It's like audio-therapy to me. No matter how shit a day I've had, I put it on loud and it all goes away. The video is great too.

It's a track I often show to people to introduce them to BoC. I think a lot of people can relate to it and enjoy it right away, whereas some of their other music is maybe more of an acquired taste.

For me the songs that stand out the most are Aquarius, Roygbiv and EYDIAB, not sure why. But EYDIAB was the tune that got me hooked.

it was the track that inspired to me listen to more. it's not their best but i would definitely never skip if it came up on shuffle.
