Many years ago I was lucky enough to have been at the Warp Lighthouse Party. I had a great night (who wouldn't given the lineup). The enjoyment of the evening was dampened slightly by rather a lot of things that seemed to go wrong during the evening. BOCs set was a bit runined for me by the firebell, overcrowding and the bar having run dry at 10pm. Anyway 13 years ago I always figured it didn't matter, I'd see them again, I've seen some acts in double figures, it's what your favorite artists do isn't it?

Warp 20 came and went and with it any hope I'd ever get to see BOC again. I'd really given up all hope....

Anyways, with all thats been going on of late I'm more hopeful than ever they may actually doing something live. The thing at movement gave us a glimpse of what it might be like. They seem to have made a lot of videos, could it be they're considering playing live again. They are so much bigger now than the last time they played live they really could just play some nice venues, would be so far removed from some of the places they played in the past.

Aphex once made a secret comeback show at Glasters, I'm secretly hoping BOC do the same this year although I'll not be holding my breath.

With the videos the projections and stuff coupled with the fact this record is going to be amazing. Do you think BOC might actually come out and play some gigs? I'd love it more than anything. If they're not so keen on being seen Amon Tobin, DJ Shadow and others proved you can play live without being seen, the music and lightshow are more than enough. I settle for that:-)

It would be spectacular if they came back with any kind of live show. I would sell a kidney to fund the purchase of a ticket

Long time lurker, new details....forgot the old ones......It's been a lot of fun following BOC recently:-)

Sadly, no. I think Lake Dolores was the closest we'll get. Then again, I know nothing so take that with a grain of salt. The warp guy(s) seemed to think even lake dolores was a one off, never to be repeated kind of thing.

It's a shame really but I fully understand why they wouldn't want to. In the past they only really did warm up for the likes of AE the old festival or support role. You'd have thought having absolute creative control would appeal to them. I saw plaid play a 5.1 show at the festival hall once and kept thinking...this would be loads better if it was boc, not that it wasn't good or anything:-) I figured they'd never do it again when they were a no show for Warp20

It's weird because they've clearly said in the past that they'd like to. I still believe I'll see them live one day. It might not be soon, but I do think it'll happen. Mind you, Kate Bush fans probably say the same very year...

I hope so, with technology these days and what can be done visually you'd have thought they'd be keen to experiment.

i can see them doing a little show in the UK. maybe give the album another little nudge later in the year when the hoopla has died down. can't see a live show outside UK though.

I can see why they don't. I don't see them as a live band, and I don't think they do either from what I've read in interviews. I would go see them if I could, but that's just more because I think it would be great just to see the brothers in person. Along with the prospect of hearing an unheard track like Lighthouse, Warp10 or ATP. Other than that, I'm really not itching to hear their music live. From what I've heard, there's very little (if any) actual performance in their live music.

Besides, I don't really like or go to concerts.

not to be a downer, but i can't help feeling there is something final about this album.

I had heard that when they played ATP, they headlined their particular day and had a contract that stipulated that their gear be set-up way earlier in the day. Unfortunately, this likely meant that other bands on the bill weren't happy having to sound check and play around their rig. I understand why they would want to make sure it was all in proper calibration, though (especially with the visual component).

I think that their seeming penchant for analog instruments/odd gear may hinder this. They don't seem like a band that would be comfortable just popping on a track from Ableton. Although the video projections surely have gotten easier since 2001.

That is the very definition of being a downer. I'd much prefer to see them go out on a high note. TH is a solid album but it ranks below every single other release they've done as far as I'm concerned.

Would never have expected that it be it back then, every lp since I've hoped to see them and nothing so far. One day, hope remains!!:-)

I think it's much better than Campfire headphase so far. I've always found that a bit linear. I still hear new stuff in all their other records except that one.

If they tour at any capacity, I will be attending. Even if that means flying out of the states to see them, assuming it perhaps could be like all of their previous live dates and restricted to Europe.

From the material I've heard so far I have a hard time believing this won't be at the very least better than The Campfire Headphase.

theres this Norwegian group, Ulver, dunno if any of you heard of them. not particularily fond of their pretentious wank myself but seeing what they took on the road, jesus, the amount of synths that guy had. i could call that pretentious in itself. they did manage to recreate a lot of the studio sound but heck what an effort.

No, but I did listen to the leak that guy put up on Youtube. I know that's different from hearing the final version in full quality, but I can't imagine the experience will be so different that it would bump the album above BoC's other works, all of which I hold in very high regard (even the vastly under-appreciated TCH).
