Release Day - Where and How Will You Listen To TH?

its coming.

if my humble experience interacting with other fellow BOC fans indicates anything - we are most certainly ritualistic in our approach to listening to this sonic nectar.

begs the question: how do you plan to 'break the seal' on this epic release?

are you going to the desert, the snow, shack in the swamp, a city penthouse with friends, the international space station ... or simply solo with your trusty headphones?

perhaps to be enjoyed with a green salad, brownies, a couch you dove from the dumpster, or a pure hike in your favorite green space?
please share your ritual here - you have only been planning it for years.

Nothing more than shutting myself away from the family for an hour with my Sennheisers :) My first listen is going to be on my own. Then I might just let my other half have a go :)

I’ll take a walk across the city to gather my thoughts and slow down.
Standing on corners, looking at old buildings, sitting on a park bench... etc.

i don't know if i will listen to it for a bit...this is the definitive album from them for me. 'reaching for the dead' is so intense, and after hearing rushes from the preview party here in the states...
i spent a bunch going analog playback for this album, and now i don't know if i can even emotionally handle listening to it. boc really did it with this one,at least as far as i can experience them. now i can see what a member here meant by being afraid of listing to certain tunes on geogiaddi...the sounds from harvest are just ripping me apart

I'm going to a Buddhist monastery for a short retreat weekend - if I get it before I go,it would be a nice spot to sit back and listen to it for the first time.

I'm headed for the Naval Air Station in Alameda that day for full effect. I wanna be in the album cover.

Kinda depends which gets to me first - download from Bleep site or pre-ordered vinyl. I might save the vinyl experience anyway.

It's my mum's funeral on the 11th. As appropriate as it might be, I don't necessarily want the album to be forever associated with such a sad occasion.

I live close to the Yale campus and I know all these neat little hidden spots there, and I was thinking about going to one of the little hidden courtyards or gardens to listen, but it's right around graduation so security will be ramped up and I don't wanna get kicked out right in the middle of it.

I guess it doesn't matter where I am. I do like to listen to music outside though.

I plan to listen it first with good headphone in my bed, and after that, by day in my car driving near the sea and by night.

Also the video game "State of Decay" will be release in June on xbox live arcade, it's an open world zombi video game, with vehicules, crafting, base camp to build, houses to explore and find objects...Obviously a dead world / society game will be working well with TH.

nice.

since Monday involved 13 hours of driving ... i'm going to enjoy it in my very own backyard wasteland: Old Fort Ord. thousands of abandoned acres of military infrastructure. i do some happy cycling there on the trails but this will be a special day on foot. i'll put on my headgear and walk among the many structures out there being reclaimed my nature. still a lot of live ordinance at the practice range.

will be sure to stop all activity and sit for 'Come To Dust' in the abandoned Chapel.
fair to say this is the first time in my life i am predicting my own goosebumps.

check it out (near bottom of this guy's filckr page):

i'm a firm believer in better living through chemistry. however, I'm probably gonna take the mp3s on a nice drive out to the hill country outside austin and soak it all in.

i'll wait for the vinyl to talk to tree people.

On my computer with headphones. Probably while browsing the internet and doing the other stuff I normally do while listening to music.

Monday? With you. When the MP3 arrives? When I sleep once I've synced it from iTunes. When the CD arrives? Not sure. When the vinyl arrives? When I eventually buy a turntable, because I've bought the 33 before the gadgetry.
