pretty incredible w/r/t the #3 spot. phenomenal.

Daft Punk is 6th and falling.

That album was rubbish. Bring back Homework-era sounds. None of this faux futuristic/disco shite they've been trying to push out.

on one hand im super stoked for the brothers but on the other, theres this odd sense of ownership with BoC that i have. im sure you all have the same feelings as well. and its not like i dont want to share them because ive introduced their music to all of my friends but still i always liked the idea that when i listened to a BoC record i felt as if i was a part of a special club

guess that sounds really dumb but thats how i feel

Hey I felt dumb for thinking it too! Pleased for the boys though

I suppose I am total opposite to the above.

I have plenty of Boards of Canada on my playlist in my tattoo studio. A LOT of my clients have enjoyed it and a few have purchased the albums too. I'd bet that if I sold half the stuff I have on my playlist in the studio, i'd have a nice sideliner and open a few eye's/ears to new music.

The recent album is getting a pretty damn good reception too lol

Brilliant news. Not a huge surprise when you see the number of followers on facebook or hits on Facebook. I just think of it as a huge cult following though. Outside of those that are really big fans, I don't think many people know of the band.

Yes, of course, why not? And then they will find out that the records are full of mystery and BoC will become a cool thing. If BoC do not start repressing the back catalogue, prices are gonna get absurdly high. Glad you all know me and know I was a fan before.

I wonder if this is mainly down to the enormous hype, length since the last release, and ever grown fan following which have contributed to way more (fans) buying the album than normally would've done, or if BoC have actually managed to appeal to the mainstream with this release...? If the latter is true, then I'm surprised actually, because I would've thought this would be a less accessible release than their past stuff, especially compared to TCH. Either way, great to see this is the case.

People like the concept. BoC is so cool to us because we like them and in a way we accept and persuade ourselves to love BoC. I am sure that many members of this forum would not love BoC so much if the group were not so mysterious. In a way, people like what they want themselves to like. We are machines of autosuggestion.
