Ok, so i'm not a headphone virgin as sometimes I mix for detail with phones and listen to music while walking everyday but It dawned on me that I have not sat down and listened to my Stereo system with some nice headphones for a long long time and I had not listened to Geogaddi that way ever. I know that it's a deeply complex album with crazy detail and timbres as you can here all this through nice speakers or monitors but I did this last night while my wife watched some shit on TV and was blown away. Of course I was not hearing anything particularly new as I know is pretty much inside out anyway but the sound was phenominal, absolute perfection in every sound they considered.

This has most likey been covered on here many times but if you have not sat with Geogaddi with a good headphone/stereo setup I urge you too immediately! If I can go for this long without doing it then there must be others.

Yeah all i have is a pair of $60 earphones because i'm 17 and broke. I think the first thing i'll buy once i get a job will be a nice set of proper headphones precisely for albums like Geogaddi.

Completely agree. My first two listens to TH were through a pair of mid-level Sennheiser HD280s, and it was quite an experience.

I think its really the only way to hear the tunes the way they were intended, especially in the case of the level of detail that BoC incorporates into their music. Isolation from outside noise, as well other sensory input, can bring you face to face with a record in a way that can't be experienced otherwise.

With that said, I don't think I've done this with Geogaddi from start to finish, and am now really looking forward to doing so.

I've got a pair of Sennheisers HD202, it cost me €40. But it has really good quality to it, I've been using these types of headphones for about 4 years already, I always buy these again if I break em.

And yes, Boards with headphones on is amazing.

i have the same ones, $30. they aren't the best headphones i've had, but for the price they are pretty darn good.
eventually i'd like to get another pair of akg k240s to replace my old broken ones

Price/quality wise they're really good. Plus I use them for everything. For my iPod when I'm out, when I'm on the computer I use them, When I'm on my PS3 I use them. I bring those headphones with me basically everywhere. I buy a new one probably every year. For some reason it breaks on me kinda fast. Might be cause of the 3 meter cord or something. I don't know.

I use a pair of Logitech G930 wireless headphones. They're 2.4GHz, not bluetooth so there's lots of bandwidth to push audio. 7.1 simulation if you like which is actually very impressive and the bass hits hard. I wanted wireless, good, and not bluetooth and these do it. Controls are on the left ear so walking around and changing volume, pausing, switching tracks is easy.

If you want wireless, they cant be beat.

This is how I roll; Darkvoice THA 337 and Sennheiser HD 650s. Highly recommended when used in combination with BoC

I am serious. I can't remember the model number, but I wouldn't mind owning an extra pair if these ever stop working. I also have sony mdr-v6's at my place, and I prefer the cheap sony's. I don't think anyone necessarily has to pay massive amounts of money for good headphones. sure, they will definitely enhance the listening experience, but the music is the same. so if listening to "shitty" music (which is subjective to everyone) with $500 sennheisers, it's still going to be shit music.

I can't praise sony mdr's enough. I've known people who wear out the pads, replace them and keep going another decade. I got mine for Geogaddi, and they're still great. I'm hearing that the newer models aren't as good.

Personally I go the inear rather than over ear or close headphones, use etymotic er4p with my iDog&bone mostly, though my Senny HD25 II's combined with my Metric Halo ULN-2 I/O works for me for the moment. Sound is very high quality, but I have been looking into getting an amp for about 7 years now, haha. I best get on with that sometime.

I also use these as well, can't be arsed to buy much more expensive headphones when the quality of these are fine.
