I'm a biased fanboy so my opinion might mean nothing, but I think BoC is the kind of band that's not famous enough to be mainstream, but just famous enough for Pop music fans to know of and say they like to earn some obscure music cred.

Pathetic list. Apart from maybe one or two, those albums shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Tomorrow's Harvest.

Then again, perhaps it's a small miracle an album as esoteric as TH even made the Guardian's top 10, which might as well have been compiled by NME or the laughable Q magazine.


I've lived with the album for almost a month now, so I have a pretty decent handle on how it measures up to other releases... and with the exception of Silver Wilkinson, Excavation, and Muchacho, I haven't listened to anything half as good this year. Also from what I've heard of the new NIN, MGMT, and OPN, I'm confident it will remain the best album of 2013. That is, unless Nick Huntington pulls off something special with Night Sequels, or VHS Head tops Trademark Ribbons of Gold.

Yeah these lists mean feck all really. It's pretty much a superficial thing, but having said that good for BoC getting attention from a mainstream outlet. although as soon as you see Daft Punk there too it kind of makes one wonder what criteria they've used to compile such a list.

anyhow, i disagree with what the reviewer saying about "best work since Geogaddi" as it does a great disservice to The Campfire Headphase

And also would it be so bizarre for Exai to be on that list? you're goddamn right, yet it is a really great album in itself and just proves what huge promotion can do.... or maybe huge anticipation alone gets it there.. don't know, WARP did heavily promote TH though, as with Daft Punk well i've mainly heard underwhelming things from people who are into them.. cest la vie

Quite a predictable list really, although I do like The National. Bowie number 1 though.....mmmm.
