makes sense since they said Comes To Dust is a reprise of Reach For The Dead

As I said in the merch thread, I hope this means another official music video and hopefully one of those 45's Warp has been releasing with new albums that has an extra track and the B side. The mid August date on the CD definitely implies something will be released; perfect amount of time since the album drop to keep us excited.

At first I was surprised they chose this track, while others like Palace Posey and Cold Earth seem to be more obvious choices, but I wonder if this has something to do with Come to Dust being the musical reprise of Reach for the Dead.

I absolutely thought Cold Earth was next. I still think it should be the next single.

Cold Earth the most obvious to me being the track that appealed to me first. Now the dust has settled I thought New Seeds would be the perfect track to release as the next single. Musically it's on another level to anything else on the album.

The date of the physical release of Come To Dust is 26/08/13 tho, not the 22/8 we've been pondering. Given the choice I'd much rather have a new track or two with it than some pointless remix a la Odd Nosdam's Dayvan Cowboy :?

Excellent! My favorite track on the album and released on my birthday!

Where can you see the 26/8? I can't read those tiny letters, not even after zooming in...

Doesn't make any sense to me. I can't deduce that there's gonna be a new single just from the fact someone is selling a promo CD on ebay. Particularly as it's "Come To Dust" which was the track that was used for the promo video for the album was it not? Presumably that promo CD is just to do with the video that went along with the whole RSD activities etc.

It's very tiny, but it's there!
Earlier on the page was allowing a zoomed view of the picture/sticker which you could then zoom further in on with your browser, but now it won't let me!
It's the usual promo blurb...new single from highly acclaimed album etc 26/08 :D

there are 2 on eBay, one of them shows the promo information sticker, its from the same promo company who distributed the reach for the dead promo single. the sticker has the usual promo blurb on it as well as the release date. also come to dust wasnt used in any promo video. Semena mertvykh was used, and a bit from the end of new seeds, and reach for the dead obviously had its own video when it was released as a single.

Can't always get what you want though, might be scheduling problems, if 22/8 was anything to look at in the first place.

This is a surprising pick to me too, my first feeling was that it would be like introducing people to a movie by showing them the ending of it. And I concur about Cold Earth, I've always likened it to be the Turquoise Hexagon Sun of this album. Catchy enough to make a single, and the first one in the running tracklist that really reminisces MHTRC Boards.

But.. Didn't Reach For the Dead also have a set physical release date in late June, and nothing showed up? Or did it?

Is this going to be another 1-track no-effort mainly download-only job like RFTD or is there going to be more stuff on there I wonder.

If it's a proper single (i.e. not just one track like RFTD) then I would expect it to contain some new BoC material. That would sell massively if so I reckon, so can't see why they wouldn't do that. (A bit like Trans Canada Highway had new material on)

it's got to have more than just 'come to dust'. You can buy each track individually already anyway.....so in essence all the tracks have been released as singles. To make it a proper release in its own right it would have to come bundled with other tracks, either physically, digitally or both.
