In recent interviews, the Boards appear to be warming to the idea of a live event. They've said they'll only do it if it's something "really special" and that they're working on it.

I like to think "special" would have to be something beyond the normal band/audience thing - something more participatory. Given the way BoC make music - an organic process involving many layers of audio processing over time - it doesn't strike me as being easy to replicate live. Perhaps a unique live event might mean unique material, or even a unique venue (GPS devices confiscated, people blindfolded and taken to Hexagon Sun)? What ideas do you folks have?

30 lucky boc fans are randomly selected by the brothers. the brohers show up in an unmarked van and violently kidnap the 30 people. they are all taken to edinburgh. the 30 peopleare tied into chairs that form a large hexagon

they feed damaged, fried, rotting slices of tape through their Reel to reels. their fingers magically dance over theirn vintage synth keyboards. the 30 people are no longer afraid. they are experiencing the greatest expericine of all mankind. mike sandison gets on the Drums and starts to drop a sick Beat. marcus gets out his guitar and begins to strum distorted melodies with his toes while his hands are occupied by feeding 1/4 inch tape through all of his analog reeel to reals. mike and marcus begin to chant in backwards latin. they begin to sacridafce fi the listeners. one by one. there is no sick Beat being dropped by mike anymore. he slowely makes his way arou nd the hexagon, cutting The throats of every one

I think they were probably just talking about cool visuals and stuff, but y'know, confiscated phones and blindfolding sounds fun too. Would we be able to call our loved ones before we left?

I'm sure with BoC being the reasonable chaps they are that we'd be allowed to call loved ones before our abduction. Of course, we'd have absolutely no idea when or if we'd ever see them again!

It was only meant as a lighthearted introduction to the topic. I don't really expect Boards of Canada to abduct people. I'm just wondering what people might have in mind for a "really special" live event.

This is what bothers me, what kind of an event could they have in mind? Whatever it is, i'll most likely miss it. Unless its on in UK and i can travel if not booked out right away, but if its abroad somewhere crazy then I won't have the funds.

But i'd still be happy, as long as some body has the sense to record a good HD video with proper sound..

If yer reading this Mike or Marcus, come to Ireland. Lots of lovely special places here for ye

You never know your luck, man. I ended up on a 6 week unplanned holiday in California and just two days before I had to leave for Australia, the listening party was announced three hours drive from where I was staying!

I think the trouble with BoC playing live is that the venues will be absolutely jammed, so many wont be able to get tickets even. I would sacrifice my first-born to be able to attend a BoC live show, but sadly I don't think I ever will. A video will do me, i'd love if they brought out a proper dvd themselves, that would be amazing, maybe with some interviews with the boys in the extras and other goodies. But I'll still hate any of you who do manage to attend should it ever happen.

not to brag but i'm kinda glad i live near a major city, even if it is the US i think they'd make a stop near here if a miricle happened and they did a US tour, most warp signees do

I'm listened to "Warp 10th Anniversary Party" and realised that they play some mindblowing live sets , would be very happy to attend in such live event
