I'm just requesting some feedback from BoC fans on a piece I wrote for my website: "If You Don't Like Boards of Canada, You Are an Asshole."
The short version of the theme is, why I like Boards of Canada, as explained to my friends who know little about them.

Thanks!

Congratulations. You have just discovered the secret message. Please send your answer to Old Pink, care of the Funny Farm, Chalfont…”
Huh, that's really weird. Chalfont is my last name, but with an a instead of an o. Does Chalfont have any other meaning?

My ex didn't get BOC at all, but then again she wasn't big on subtlety. She pretended to like Radiohead but she didn't get them either

Well, one of my friend's only experience with BoC is TH and I wouldn't call him an asshole for not liking it. I would normally take more offensive to such a title but considering Alex is your avatar it seems somehow acceptable.

My friend said BoC are "a bit wishy washy" the other day.

If you don't like Board of Canada, then you are just different from people who do like Boards of Canada. No harm, no foul.
Now, if you do like Little Wayne, then you are an asshole.

I don't judge people on the music they listen to. Otherwise, the same would apply to any field of art or knowledge....
"If You Don't Like Pablo Picasso, You Are an Asshole."
"If You Don't Like Otto Dix, You Are an Asshole."
"If You Don't Like Luis Borges, You Are an Asshole."
"If You Don't Like Ingmar Bergman, You Are an Asshole."
"If You Don't Like Michel Foucault, You Are an Asshole."
"If You Don't Like Igor Stravinski, You Are an Asshole."
What else??

Not to hijack the thread, but I find it interesting that when people want to refer to base music, they interject Lil' Wayne. I hope and pray that one day, someone will interject Jay Z...at least Lil' Wayne innovated Southern rap a bit. Jay Z was always biting off the East/West rivalry, and entered into an arena devoid of talent (especially when Nas decided to suck post-Illmatic). Not that I listen to Lil' Wayne...but Jay Z deserves a scoff from the margins of music as much, or more, than Lil' Wayne. Off my soapbox now.

If by innovated, you mean got wasted on cough syrup and garbled incoherently into auto tune because nobody had enough courage to tell you to GTFO, then you are correct.
Yeah, I know. I'll shut up now.

The title is more in keeping with the style of the site. It is called "Fuck Your Blog", after all.
Honestly, it's just an easier way to get all of the reasons why I like them in one place, rather than re-explaining everything to my friends and family one at a time.
I just posted it because I thought people here might appreciate it, and maybe provide some feedback about other stuff I should include/edit/etc.

Lil' Wayne didn't develop anything other than some pubes and a big ass head. The guy is/was an absolute cock and zero talent. Tupac would shit out better nuggets of quality rap than Lil' Wayne could ever muster.
Your post reminds me of what some jumped up 22yr old would say....sad lol.

I figured that would strike a nerve. Probably the wrong board to make this point. I just get tired of the same people regurgitating this idea (this music isn't for people who like Lil Wayne) when the same people turn around and worship a tool like Jay Z.
And I remember when Cash Money really more the fantasy rap model into the mainstream. Again...this is my least favorite style of hip hop, but they were doing it before Jay Z. Just sayin...

I have a couple of friends that at least know of BoC. One of them has only heard random songs and has liked them but still hasn't been interested enough to bother listening to more tracks or listening to them that much. The other likes some specific BoC tracks but not all. The thing that baffles me about this second friend is that he really likes sound engineering and appreciates certain dubstep (ugh) because of the sound engineering behind it, but has never been that impressed by BoC or anything. I'm not a sound engineer myself, but judging from what I've seen people say here BoC are amazing at production, so I don't understand how they can not be interesting to him! gaaah
