Morning all

Anyone use either of the above? The Mrs is dead set on getting one or other of them. For my part, I'm really not that bothered but if we're going to cough up for one, I'd rather have the one that gives the best deal.
Price wise, they're identical, so it's all about content range and quality. Oh and we'll be streaming rather than ordering DVDs etc. We used LoveFilm about 6 years ago they were ok but I think we're nudging towards Netflix at the moment.
Opinions??

I think it depends on whether you most want to watch TV series or films. Personally, I've been getting bored of mainstream cinema for a long time, and I get a lot more enjoyment out of a top quality TV these days (Breaking Bad, Top Boy, Southcliffe, House of Cards etc.).
We recently subscribed to Netflix, primarily so we could watch the last season of Breaking Bad, and we've been pleasantly surprised by how much good stuff, TV in particular, is on there. I've heard Lovefilm is perhaps better for films but worse for TV.
We're using Netflix through a PS3 and it works very well. I guess the Xbox version is very similar. If you have a decent network/broadband connection you can get a fine HD picture out of it too.
We've actually started using Sky On Demand for any new-ish release films that we like the look of, which covers almost everything bar the foreign language ones. I don't know if Lovefilm is any better for foreign language stuff.
I know Netflix has a 1 month free trial. Maybe Lovefilm has something similar...

Cheers Ian - yes LoveFilm has a similar free trial and boy do they target me for it!
Thanks for the info on Netflix. That sounds alright actually. I've little interest in Hollywood movies with one or two exceptions and I think the Mrs wants it for decent TV so that sounds ideal.

I haven't used LoveFilm myself but I signed up for the Netflix free month trail for the latest Breaking Bad episodes and liked it that much I have ended up keeping it.
I also installed the free Media Hint add on for Firefox and get all the U.S content too. You get a hell of a lot more stuff that way.

I've found Lovefilm instant (their streaming service) to have a very poor selection of films. TV series not much better - no Mad Men or Breaking Bad, for instance.

Watching Netflix in Germany is gain without pain. I set up streamingvpn and then started netflix to catch my favorite movies while on the go.

I have both as present (due to getting deal- 6months for 10 quid!), streaming thru the PS3.
i would agree with other posts. Lovefilm not QUITE as good as Netflix....but depends what you're looking to watch.
You can cancel after a month, so try one, try the other. no harm done.
