CAMPFIRE SIDE C- just checked it out,i have the static and the scratches on the vinyl, some people posted pictures of. GEOGADDI and MHTRTC are ok though. i have these weird lines on GEOGADDI "///////"
but they aren't effecting sound.

well I have that On mine as well...i think its this type of thing where you know...like waveforms...like...certain sounds have to be pressed on the vinyl in a special way and make these lines

but campfire pops constantly well whatever :D

yeah, I've seen those lines on other records, they aren't messing with the playability at all.....the stuff on Campfire is though, pretty badly. after listening to MHTRTC ,GEOGADDI and the first record of CAMPFIRE, I thought I was going to get away without issue, I guess not. bad thing is, I bought it from a local record shop, not BLEEP, feel weird returning it, it's not their fault.

I thought the pops and clicks were what everyone was wanting when they listened to vinyl. You can't expect digital quality on a cut piece of wax, can you?

yeah im confused, static and pops are standard on vinyl

yeah, this isn't just static, it's a giant scratch that goes through 2 songs. it's similar to what other people have been posting pictures of in other posts (particularly the "order up" post)

Same problemhere, side C & D are a bit too distorted too be a side effect of a vinyl pressing.

I just figured since so many people were having issues, make a dedicated thread?

No it's not. I don't want clicks and pops and although it's almost inevitable, mainly due to static, some excellent releases like Eleh's Homage compilation really stand out as a brilliant example as how vinyl can surpass any digital medium.

what I got is definitely a pretty obvious, bad press

I have said in other threads - even if you haven't purchased your record from Bleep - you are purchasing a brand new item, which is not fulfilling it's function properly. Of course, there will be small imperfections in vinyl and that's fine, but if it's really disrupting the quality of the music, you have every right to ask for your money back, or indeed a replacement copy.

yeah, I'm good, I know enough to know the difference between a little imperfection and a serious flaw in the pressing. sorry if this thread is hurting y'all's feelings or something. I'm going to try to take it back to exchange, I just feel sorry for my local shop. in the meantime, some of you guys should loosen up a bit haha!!! I come in peace guys.

there's no need to feel sorry for the shop, they'll just return it to warp for a refund.

*frustrated* come on guys, i'm just trying to relate to a common problem, with a dedicated thread....not trying to troll or hate or whatever. in fact, i think GEOGADDI and MHTRTC are pretty amazing. i just think it is disappointing that TCH has been messed up for a bunch of people. it's an inconvenience for me and my local record shop. it's also kind of lame for a 20 some dollar record.

I'm agreeing with you. if its faulty, return it for an exchange or refund. the shop can send it back to the supplier if they want.

I didn't order any of them personally as I already have them all, but from what I've read here, on reddit and on the what.cd forums there does seem to be some bad pressings.

Wait, I'm hearing about lots of issues with that specific album. Somebody posted this eventually in answer to the continuing problem:

It's more than just the standard vinyl sounds. If you're having the same problem with overall faulty audio quality, check it out

After hearing about all these issues I checked my side 4 of TCH straight away and welp.

Quick search of where things were pressed and it delivered this:

WARPLP55R - MPO (France) [Music Has The Right To Children]
WARPLP123R, WARPLP70R, WAP200R - Vinyl Factory (UK) [The Campfire Headphase/Twoism/Trans Canada Highway]
WARPLP101R, WAP144R - Optimal (Germany) [Geogaddi/In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country]

So don't hold your breath for the quality on Twoism and Trans Canada repressings. I've heard Vinyl Factory is a pretty poor plant, reputation wise.

Haven't heard any complaints about MHTRTC. Maybe just send the lot of them off to France. Honestly I think most people would pay the extra for quality, if cost was the issue.
I hope they are QC checking the twoism/transcanada vinyls right now to avoid the issue before shipping.
My vinyls arrived on Saturday. I've yet to check them. Fingers crossed.

Geogaddi is mostly getting good/great reviews, I think that German plant is meant to be top notch. But yeah, I think Bleep are building a case for compensation/insurance claims against this Vinyl Factory plant? The request for photographs is fairly indicative of that. Hopefully they will set things straight. In other related news I did see Campfire in HMV today.
